I'm in college and I really don't know what to do as a career. My interests and hobbies don't really matter in what job I choose because whenever you turn a hobby into a job it ruins it. I work at Target right now but I believe there exists a job that pays well and is enjoyable. help me find it please
College is gay af yo (in my humble opinion). i finished my GE and then switched to welding. Im also going back into the army as a nurse tho
What is it about welding that makes it alright? I've heard there are certain health risks associated too
depends on the job, underwater welding is ultra high risk. Also i wear a re-breather when i weld so i not always inhaling all that shit. what makes it alright is that you can get your cert fast as fuck, you can find work very quickly and starting wages are decent. A nice alternative is HVAC so I hear, a few of my friends got into that.
I don't have an official job, but I make stuff/fix stuff for people on the side for a little bit of money. My advise is learn a trade, those are fun.
If you just wanna make some dough, HVAC brother. You can make 6 digits and because there is a shortage of people doing it, you can get in it pretty easily. Kind of hard to really tell you what to do if you don't have any opinions on the matter.
I work in a drugs store/health store. The payment differs in each country and if you have the correct papers then they are constantly asking for you, maybe even trying to pirat you away. Why i love it: I enjoy helping people and see the smile on people their face when they come back and feel reliefed that i solved their health issues. Secondly a lot of elderly come here and they love to have a small talk with somebody which i love as well. I get a lot of different stories from a lot of elderly . 90% of people in this career are girls ps it helps to bring chocolate to work daily. What i hate: Some people come in dumb and believe EVERYTHING is behind the counter when in fact only 1% is behind the counter. So i end up collecting their list instead of them going through the store (only hate this on weekends). Some people come in and expect a short and speedy line. But in fact helping people personally isn't really that speedy when they don't know what to take. But we have to know everything about them (age, other medicines, pregnancy, allergies and so on). Funny part of how i got here: While i was in military school and studying for the destruction and tracking of enemy ships my school years went horrible wrong due to drugs, alcohol and relationships with bad gf's. So i ended up in a rehabilitation program from the state to seek out for a schooling for me. But then my boss (of my weekend job at the drug store) asked me to become a full time employee. And here i am as drug store employee. I didn't choose this path. This path choose me because i never tought about doing this when i was 14-18 for the rest of my life. But now i work here 2 years fulltime and i enjoy being surrounded by 8 girls.
Yeah what paci said, honestly most trades pay a really good amount of money. It’s also way faster to get your certification than it is to get a degree. You can also look into an elevator Union. If you score high on the test and get lucky you be picked up quickly. You will hardly really do any hard work and you’ll get Paid very well.
I help 10-14-year-olds with their math. I only do it like 4 or 5 hours a week but hey it pays rent and it's teaching-related so it's something I like doing.
Currently I'm in college studying IT, and I also work as a Half time (20H weelky) as a waiter in a Dinner & Show place that is also a Night Club, it's an easy job and easy money (800€/month, which is really nice as a part time here). I haven't really thought about what job I wanna have when I finish my degree, but I'll see where life takes me :shrug:
I work as a Software Engineer for Accenture, mainly handles SAP. (@Opalium loves SAP) the pay is like 2.5x the median pay in our country (we poor af) but it really isn't much globally. IT is a highly recommended job if you're looking for "what's next" but it ain't for the feint-hearted. Best of luck tho
still in high school, planning to become a fighter pilot at the military (means 10 years service at the army) , and see how the life would take me onwards.
