I need a good explanation of what ghosting is. mainly because i have talked to live players, but not about the game. and the only times, is when i ask why they killed me, before i report. And if that isnt ghosting, can u basically explain what is? because i have been told its talking to living players at all, and admins have told me that it is giving living players information that they didnt yet know about the game... so,, if u can help that'd be nice.

From what ive heard from several admins and my own experience its giving information to living players that they didnt know. Such as so and so is a traitor or look at this kos.

Ghosting is provding information that is not currently known to someone, where a un'id is, the fact that there IS an un'id, who t's are, if you are a T, anything that provides information the person does not currently know about in-game, is ghosting. Most of this is when a player is dead, but things like saying who your t buddies are and all that can obviously be done while you are alive. If anyone ever pm's you that contains information that you do not yet know while you are alive, take a screenshot and report them if no staff is on.

Ghosting is actually just providing information that can change the flow of a game. Example: if you're dead and another is alive and you decide to tell this person information that can cause him to know something he didn't before (like telling him that there's a kos on that person or to check the chat because he provided information there), that in every sense is known as ghosting. If you're telling people who the traitors are, that is ghosting. It can even extend to telling a person that you're dead when it says that you're technically there (although I've lied about that a couple of times and told someone that I was dead when I was really still alive).

So any kind of information that can cause a change in the current gameplay due to information that wasn't known or was neglected is known as ghosting. And as McMuffin says, if you catch someone ghosting to you, make sure to take a screenshot and report that haunted spirit.

Most of this is correct, however, giving away your traitor buddies is not ghosting; it is simply a false KOS that can be counted as RDM. The only way I would consider it ghosting is if it were a PM to an innocent/detective player while dead or living.

Ghosting is giving any players, usually a dead to living message, any information that they would not have known otherwise. Using any communication other than global chat, including aim chat, to give away things like player statuses and acts, is ghosting.

Asking someone why they killed you, and only why they killed you, wouldn't be considered ghosting. However, to avoid accidentally ghosting in that kind of situation, then file an RDM report and ask the staff member that handled the report to follow up with you when it's finished.
