Art Re-Creating Old Designs

HELLO

As some know I aspire to become a Graphic Designer.
Here is a work that I did back when I first started playing SGM back in 2016 July, a stitch. @Stitch

The reason for this thread is to show my progression with practicing and studying on my own.

FYI, my 2016 Picture has bad quality since I lost the image due to laptop burning at the time, with no backup the only way to get it was through Steam profile artwork.

(This school year almost thought me nothing) ( I recently started studying graphic design through school)

I will be updating (Bumping) this thread with past designs over a period of time to show improvement.
This is set to show that practice makes perfect.

All feedback is appreciated and read with care.
For future I'll probably be studying at my college. ( Next September )

the shadow looks weird though

 

Yeah must agree, I did the highlights and shadow a bit fast. Not really good at doing them either, it's a field that needs improvement.
Also the shadow is cut off because of clipping, but that's easily fixable.

 

Hmm can you draw a picture of stitch that looks like chuck Norris with all his guns, beard, hat, etc

 

Looking good man! Personal little crits, try to not let the shadow get clipped as it's quite obvious, also maybe thinner lines on the text (black outline) to match stitches thin lines?

I can see the improvement in composition. Keep it up!

Story behind it:
Acno was like... "You should make a dragon" Since he's a dragon I made his. (Very Interesting) Acno was like... "Whatever >.> ".

Design:
Text, I went for a bolder text and experimented with blur effects on the word giving it a unique and new effect that I never tried, which I'm happy about the result.
The dragon on the other hand I would probably have made it much better if I had more knowledge of tools and patience.
I removed almost all of the shadow because it would've ruined it and wished for it to look more solid and flat. Than 3D (Like Stitch)
The tail is a bit F*cked up. (and god please don't talk about the mouth)
