Make Mic Battery Less Annoying.

I can understand why mic battery is a thing. It's to avoid mic spammers (Even though there's already a mute feature.) But I feel like if you actively play on a server, mic battery shouldn't bug you as much.

I am a very social person, and mic battery often cuts me off when I'm trying to have a conversation. My suggestion is to use the playtime a player has, and make milestones which add more mic battery. At a certain point even give unlimited mic battery to the player.

    Example:
Player X reaches 50 hours on the server, therefore Player X's mic batter increases by 1.5x.
Player Y just reached 100 hours, so their mic battery increases by 2x.
Player Z reaches 250 hours, so they get unlimited mic battery.

I also don't see the point in having to donate to have more mic battery. In fact, I feel if somebody donates any money they should get unlimited mic battery. Mic battery shouldn't be just increased for Supporter, VIP, Bronze, and Silver, it should be unlimited.

    Response to Comments:

A lot of people have been commented on the post, trying to explain why mic battery shouldn't be improved. You may think it's not an improvement, but in what way? What will this little change that won't even effect trolls do? If this suggestion is implemented, it will positively effect long time players. New players might be driven away by mic battery, especially seeing that they have to PAY to get rid of it. And it won't even fully get rid of it, the only way to get completely rid of mic battery is to pay monthly. Either way, mic battery isn't even that good at stopping mic spammers.

"No mic battery = bad stories." - Staff can deal with it or you just mute them.

"You already have infinite mic battery when you're dead. I prefer keeping my alive voice chat clean when I'm playing TTT." - Not in Deathrun. And this doesn't change anything either way.

"just deal with it, its a reason for people to donate." - Maybe, but giving players incentive to be more active is better.

"its only for chit chatting imo" - I don't believe mic chat is only for chit chatting, but that's what I mainly use it for. Mic battery interrupts me.

"deathrun needs mic battery. Otherwise it would be mic spam hell." - The suggestion isn't to remove mic battery, it's to improve it. Deathrun Staff can deal with them, or you can mute them.

"there's plenty of toxic players who have played pretty long who would jump at the ability to abuse this privilege." - If there's staff, the toxic players can be dealt with. No staff, they can be muted or reported on the forums.

    Dear @Exominem,

SeriousGMOD is a P2W server. We at SeriousGMOD will not tolerate to make Free To Play players to play on OUR servers with free buffs. That's why we at SeriousGMOD has made a new rule where you have to buy a donor rank with real money to buy a player model with virtual money, soon we'll be able to add our virtual money to the donor shop so you can buy your points.

@LionBattery I don't particularly enjoy using Discord to converse with people when I am on Garry's Mod, as there are usually multiple people that are not on the Discord server.

@8BitFox perm ban please slandering the server

There once was a boy, a boy of great fortune, that stepped on a rock marked by a mystical fellow
It said onto him a mighty fine verse: find me through the willow's and atop the hill.
Puzzled the boy of great fortune looked for he had never been tasked with so much and as such.
He galloped and sprinted through the willows to find a magical tree. A tree of three, actually, stopped
him where he stood by extending their arms out to block his path. "Who dares go there, and why so frail? For
you couldn't scare but a mouse!" said the trees with loud and obnoxious delight. "Stand aside ye bastards and let me go!"
"Never will you see the day that we wilt away, for you to pass that is". Any boy of a lesser fortune would turn back, but
not on a day like this thought the boy of great fortune. He produced a semi-automatic rifle and blew the trees away.
Galloped on and skipping too, the boy found his way to a pond. Inside the pond the fish jumped and sang,
however the boy was no fool. His cautious manor stopped him from being eaten alive by the swordfish. He quickly
made a boat of lilies and sailed across the pond. With a jump and a skip, but nothing more, he was across and fair.

Now he spotted the mystical man atop the hill and knew what he had to do. He chucked the rock at the man to hear a loud thud
the man turned and his eyes looked of mud. "You there boy! You found my pebble, the one I use to lure adventurers here to
complete my quest!". The boy again was rather cautious but slowly approached the mystical man. With a top-hat and a cape, he
looked like an amateur magician. "There is a cave nearby with diamonds that belong to I, fetch them and I will give you my magical
stick!". This mad magician produced a wand and used it to zap a tree that was next to the boy. The boy jumped with fright at the sight.
Now the boy of great of fortune was no idiot, he knew of the wand's potential. He could rule the lands, and all he had to do was fetch
some silly pieces of carbon. He ran to the caves as fast as he could, but on the way he tripped and stumbled over roots laid in the swamps.
Now he had a bruise on his knee. He cried only for a moment and began again. Into the cave he dived, hesitation left behind.
He located the diamonds with a very easy pace, but the spider soon he had to face. It was a mean and nasty looking bug, nothing suitable to hug.
The boy produced his rifle, and stared down the massive spider. "No worries boy I say, for I am a vegan since about yesterday!". The boy lowered his
weapon at this call, but the spider was quick and soon struck. "I suppose, even I can cheat but one day!" it said with a smile. "For when an oppertunity
presents itself I must be keen". The boy fell back and grabbed frantically for his rifle to find it laid next to a rock. He threw the rock to distract the spider,
and gunned it down with a vigor never seen before till this day. The man got the diamonds and the kid got the wand the end.

Would you really want this terrible story read out-loud over the mic? A terrible story with no meter, no flow, no tone, weak ending and characters that are one dimensional? No mic battery = bad stories.

I agree, The mic battery is kind of bullshit in the aspect this is a Voice-chat based gamemode. There shouldnt be a limit on talking, there should be use of the mute button or gag function. I get mic-spam is a problem, but if you ask me the Mic battery is just an excuse for the mods to be lazy. No offense. :I

The microphone is not for "socializing" "casual conversations" and story telling. It's for discussing TTT related matters. Don't like that, then donate.

Edit: Upvote me because I'm right.

tbh i was a cunt and played guitar on the mic while mods weren't online, no one reported me because everyone loved it (except when people told me 2 stop i did) but like it was cool, even did it as a thuglife mod..

only problem was the voice meter...idk dude it is a pain sometimes, but just deal with it, its a reason for people to donate.

Look, Mic-spam is bad, yes, But Its pain in the ass when your talking to players, then cant alert them because the mic battery died. Personally, i think if people are mic-spamming, then maybe the Moderators should do theyre jobs and Use the power given to them. The mute command is existant, Might i Remind you all.

Ok, so I kinda agree and kinda disagree,

Sure mic battery can be annoying, but honestly voice chat while alive isn't there so you can chit chat.

So, that's why I'm quiet and I'm gonna -1 this

@Pacifist If somebody is telling that story and you don't like it, just mute them. I'm not asking to completely remove mic battery from everybody. Just to lesser it the longer you play.

@Rauno @.Zyp file This post is not based towards TTT, it's for both TTT and Deathrun which both have the curse of mic battery. In Deathrun you still have mic battery while dead.

@Daddy Nexxus ^^^^^ Mic chat IS for socializing and casual conversation. Why else do you think it was added into Garry's Mod? Obviously there are other uses for mic chat.

Ok but deathrun needs mic battery. Otherwise it would be mic spam hell. I could see people pressing a kill bind just to tell in their mics longer.

@.Zyp file Once again, there is a mute feature in both TTT and Deathrun. You could just press tab, and mute the mic-spamming player. It wouldn't be too big of an issue with more Deathrun staff, but I suppose you are right. Except not? The whole idea is, the longer you play, the more mic battery you have. So people can't just join and mic spam. Mic battery will still be the same until they reach a milestone.
