National guard is wing of army (Army National Guard) , but are separate things. Which one did you enlist in
Thank you! It's fine the joke is about an Air Force cadet; someone in ROTC. So it would be funny for most of us enlisted lol. I've been in for 9 years and I've been good at promoting for my career. Don't forget about the Reserves. Also, the Air National Guard is a thing too. I wouldn't call them wings of each Active Service. They're a component of each service.
hehexd i was National Guard, i was even lucky enough to do a rotation at fort polk. @MangoTango Very nice! was actually looking to join the air guard
I used to be stationed in Fort Polk a couple years back when my father was there, may I ask how long ago that rotation of yours happened?
My thoughts go out to them and I was curious to see if I actually knew who you were but if you were just recently there then I doubt that was the case. It is always good to see more military people. I know you probably hear it enough ( I know @MangoTango has ) but thank you guys for what you do.
This just in: A zero-dark-thirty study by the Snafubar Institute, who credited Pvt. Welp-Class Puke Bucket as a primary source (who contributed while unsupervised on wash detail), discovered that in the majority of instances studied, 99% of subjects were able to form the word "wing" faster than "component" on an Android device. The study also found that online conversations have an unnerving tendency to be comprised of questions or answers containing very little information, necessitating multiple entries from the parties involved before a conclusion can be reached. These stunning findings almost broke the internet, and are reportedly the inspiration for the first true story to be published on the DuffleBlog. The lead for the study, a grizzled 'Nam era jarhead, weighed in, "Mobile age *scoff*; more like mobile shit heap if you ask me." The commander of Ft. Ooh-Rah, where Pvt. Bucket is stationed, Lt. Col. Biggest Biceps, also shared his thoughts: "Folks are understandably worked up over these new findings, which will inevitable affect our OPs. But we're tough folks, and you can be sure this load will be harnessed to the advantage of our men and women in uniform." Pvt. Bucket was reportedly last seen raking leaves in the forest with a picture of Gunney Ermey (RIP, you'll be missed) yelling taped to a selfie stick mounted to Bucket's vest, the picture facing him. A journalist reached out to Bucket for comment when his DS wasn't looking. Bucket responded hurriedly, "Much luls", before pushing the journalist into a foxhole when he noticed his DS returning. break break Ok all that bs aside lol, yeah, I would have typed the whole nine yards of Active vs Reserve vs Guard, but see above for y not 9 yrs, @MangoTango , awesome. u still in? cool, @TotallynotMasterTbaiter , hope i didnt come off as an ass there I dont have the bragging rights u guys do; to the frustration of the Marine recruiter (guess he was turned onto me by my *British* camo jacket) when i told him this, I have other responsibilities. If the DOD ever adds organically grown small grains and beef to the menu, hopefully you wont live in too much fear I may have had a part in producing it So I brag about my family instead: Grandpa was Air Force in Alaska. uncle is career Air Force, went to Germany. Have a bro-in-law in Air Guard, recently finished stint in Japan. Sis in Army Guard, brother ex Army Guard. srsly, u guys should be lead admins, even though u dont have the time for it. would be much tighter ship around here lol
