Accepted Remove Men in the Middle

Not a fan of it myself either honestly. Would agree to have it removed, but many others do like it though.

This is expressly against the rules of just about every fun round. Report it.

There's literally one objective. Shoot red guys. If you're not doing that, it isn't because you don't work as a team, it's because you're lazy/terrible.

That said, I'm not a huge fan of the design either. I disagree that the UMP guys are underpowered though. Try sniping with even three people shooting at you with any reliable results. Not going to +1 because removing fun rounds seems pointless, given the incredible infrequency that they show up. Take that round to go get a drink or something, instead of worrying about it so much.

 

To be fair, people camp anyway and nothing is really ever done about it.

 

You have the means to do something about that. If you don't feel like reporting it, there's no sense in raising it as a point here.

 

I can actually agree with this to an extent;

The other two "one vs many" fun rounds incorporate special mechanics that makes the Innocents fear the chosen in a way; it's quite scary and funny when the hidden busts in a room full of people and the panic shooting and hysteria kicks in. The reapers often cause fight or flight to kick in from the Innocents, leading to a brutal massacres during a Scooby Doo style chase. Both of these have clear but different t
counterplay strategies to them makes them susceptible, but doesn't take away from the fact they are still super powerful.

In comparison, man in the middle just doesn't meet that mark the other two set; sure the chosen few are powerful ranged one shot kiddos, but they aren't scary nor frightening to face alone; just by shooting in ones general direction for awhile, you can deny him a kill for quite some time, even more so if he's a poor shot while you are reloading. Grouping up on them makes it that much easier to deny him kills and slowly wittle the kiddo down.

I don't think anything as drastic as a removal is needed; I feel like the concept could be improved to match the other two.

 

Oh trust me, I tell people at the beginning that I will report them for it and call them wussies if they do it.

 

Why don't you people just say "Robo you might as well just leave the community since you don't play and have nothing of value to ever comment on anything related to the servers since you don't play you're only here to ever stir the pot and never be productive."

This mode SUCKS. Sorry for trying to help make the servers better for everyone even though I don't play. Man, what an asshole I am for going out of my way trying to help people I don't play with in a server I don't play in anymore. Holy s*** I am really the worst.


So when is this trash game mode being removed?

 

There's better ways to say it than that.

 

Camping and hiding during boss fun rounds are not against the rules. In fact, in most fun rounds they're encouraged (Hidden, Reapers, Men in the Middle)
In Gun Game camping doesn't matter. And in OITC and Harpoon wars, it's against the rules to camp, but those aren't the fun rounds we're talking about

What you're saying is the equivalent of "I've been here 2 years longer than you so my opinions matter more", and is ignorant.

 

Actually, it says on the box that pops up that camping during the round is slayable.

 

If anything, I'd like to hear ideas on how to improve it. Removing it should be a last resort.

 

I mean, all the rounds like this only a small group of people get to have fun, aka, the chose few. But men in the middle is just so fucking boring, as UMP users you feel like you're not contributing at all, but at least on Reaper one skilled player could kill a reaper if they're quick and lucky, theres no individual reward being a UMP user in MITM. Making it even worse than the other small group rounds which aren't even great.

 

It just doesnt feel satisfying as the UMP people. Maybe if you want to keep UMP vs Snipers, add few more snipers and make UMPs do more damage. Right now you can just blow magazines with left click and die without getting any kills = feels bad. With more damage a single person can actually outplay a sniper even though its not intended but eh, I dont think current way just works to make it fun.

Also maybe remove friendly UMP direction change, sometimes you have few memers just shooting teammates.

 

One idea I had in mind is to replace the UMP with a weaker version of the Newton Launcher. Instead of just shooting the Men, you push them around and fling them in the air. It won't be as strong the original Newton but it could still be more interesting this way. I think it's far more rewarding to send a man flying in air and see them crash into the ground as they try to hit you. Of course, that'll require rebalabcing the whole thing - more men, more health for then, etc. But it could be an interesting twist.

Another idea is to give the men this Newton instead, with some more damage and slower fire rate, and then let the others use normal guns instead of just the UMP.

Just throwing ideas out. Let's hear you all too.I believe we can fix this fun round with some creativity and tinkering. Don't give up on it just yet.

 

I feel like Newton launcher would only really work if the men went higher up on the map (i.e. top of dolls instead of the ground floor)

 

Make it possible that every player can also spawn 1 small prop. That way in closequarters maps like innomotel "innocents" can prop kill with newton and in open areas like rooftops they can directly knock em off. Would be pretty fun but needs special rule that killing teammates is allowed.

Or that could be a new fun round in itself kappa

 

This is way too complicated for a player who's here to play TTT. Tbh this kinda thing just reminds me of how SGM on ice went down because it was also super complicated and very different from what TTT is. Just give us a damn gun that does more damage than a $1 water pistol that's squirting only occasionally and we'd be happy.

 

Newton launchers, good idea but no. The point of the umps is the ruin the accuracy, being able to just push them will not help (unless on a map that lets players fall to their death.) One example is Xpro being able to snipe you with ease and he’ll probably make a trick shot montage.

Using normal guns:no. I don’t think the men in the middle want to be instantly killed by aks, shotguns or deagles. Even if you reduced the damage all the one the MITM still get the accuracy bonus.

MITM is a finicky fun round because you can tell from the vote it’s almost split down the middle.

But maybe tinkering with the Men and not the innocents is a better way to go since it can be 1 sided at times. Maybe give the men shotguns instead of the scout rifle so they gotta get closer up but the shotgun with short range still give that instant kill.
