Ruins of a castle on a hill right above my town:

Legends say that it used to belong to a man who built it for his wife after he left her for a woman from Italy so he could spend time with the woman without any bother. Our town was named after the wife.
The castle was later took by Turks, remade into a military base and used as a frontier fortress. It was abandoned at the beginning of the 19th century.

 

Reminds me of the medieval times, and those waterfalls are beautiful.

oh damn i was at hakone and owakudani as well last month but i wasnt lucky enough to get that clear of a view of mt fuji from that high up (managed to take a pic of it with less clouds from lake ashi which is up on this page)
