Hey hey there's opinions and then there's facts. The fact is what I said in bold would happen. The fact here is this is a bad idea. The opinion is this is a optimistic cheerful happy go lucky generous fun idea for the entire SGM community to experience and that's where you lie. This kind of optimism is so misguided that you need to see in big bold red underlined text just how wrong you are, how bad this idea is.

Also I'll insult you first before I insult the poster of the idea because he'll try to get me banned. Calling his idea isnt harassing him it's a statement of his bad idea before you say "you already insulted him though... smart..."

It's a shame people can't just disagree and give a valid and reasonable why. Instead we have sarcastic and toxic comments, even from our own "professional and mature" staff team.

Okay. You said things like for 1 day.

1. The logistics is going to take a long ass time to find people with minor bans, unban them for even 1 day, and then reban them with adjusted time. That is pure waste of staff resources even if we don't reban them.
2. Some people were banned for various types of offenses. For example, there can be a difference between an accidental mass rdm and intentional mass rdm. However, the problem lies on figuring out whether the person intentionally mass rdm'd or accidentally mass rdm'd. People who intentionally mass rdm'd shouldn't be allowed back on the server because they will just more likely to mass rdm'd again. We can ask the staff themselves to check, but that will require a huge amount of manhours (aka staff resources).
3. Sure, it can look positive on community side, but you have to consider things from the staff side. We're volunteers, not paid workers. You're asking us to do a whole lot more work for very little payoff.
4. Sometimes, people are banned for a reason for a length of time because they failed to learn from their mistakes or just wanted to push the rules to the limits. Why should we unban these people?

 

1/2/3 I agree with what you're saying, it is a lot of work on the staff team, which is the exact reason I didn't +1 this idea, only stated my view on the whole idea. 4. As I had stated previously, we shouldn't unban the people who have a built up history, or for harsh reasons, only unban for small offenses such as 1st offense of rdm/leave. This would allow people to get together and play on any server they would like, or if by chance there were to be another event such as Halloween, they would be able to participate instead of waiting for whoever is hosting it to move to another server (or something along the jist of that.)

Anyways, thank you for actually stating valid reasons and not making sarcastic comments (which doesn't even help the thread anyways so why post them)
