Invalid Report against Dolph1n and French Toast

Reason For Report:

Both Dolph1n and French Toast slayed me for something that was an obvious false report. Player The Infamous Doc Holiday reported me for an incorrect KOS because he claim'd that I couldn't have known that he threw a harpoon at me even though he was the only player in the area from which a harpoon was thrown and I turned around and saw him being the only player on the entire screen 1/2 second after I watched a harpoon fly by my head. Both mods came to the conclusion that they couldn't prove or disprove that I saw him throw the harpoon so Dolph1n slayed me for it. I told them in admin chat to watch the replay multiple times and they still decided to slay me.​

Hey TentacleSensei, I'm not sure what you want me to provide as I didn't actually handle this report, I just gave my opinion on it, kind of like double checking, so I'm going to go ahead and let Dolph1n handle the deathscene and such.

 

Well your decision led to being slain for a obvious false report so you get to partake in whatever judgement is handed out.

First off, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to report me here. It allows me to identify areas in which I need improvement as a moderator.

So for this incident, you submitted this report:

Upon further investigation of the shot logs I found that The Infamous Doc Holiday did throw a harpoon at you, at 1:29.

I then decided to see if I could find a death scene around that time to confirm that you did in fact see him throw the harpoon. I found one, however I was a little unsure about whether or not you saw him, so I consulted French for a second opinion. She agreed with me that you didn't see him, because he rounded the corner too fast.

After confirming with French Toast, I went ahead and issued a slay.

That's all I have to say, so I'll be leaving the rest of this report to my admin.

 

Ok so one your replay lags like shit. Two he's still in the area when it begins replaying, three I turned around and saw him alone in frame. Which is what I was saying in admin chat multiple times before you issued a slay on me. Once again I got slayed for an obvious false report by Doc Holiday. I don't even see why you had to consult with another mod for this shit.

 

And by the way now French Toast is scrutinizing every little detail of my logs in the game, I'm assuming because of this report against her. I'd appreciate it if every round I kill people for committing traitorous acts I wasn't second guessed and questioned when there's not even a report generated about it.

As far as the quoted message- it is the moderator's duty to look at unreported damage during situations that may appear as RDM and report it. I apologize if you feel like she's scrutinizing your details- but this is part of her duty as a moderator.

Helix I've been playin on these servers for some time and the only times I've ever seen mods and admins going over damage logs with a fine tooth comb is when there's been some personal issues between the players and the staff. Just throwing that out there. I don't feel like getting banned for technicalities man, I'm just here to dick around a little and play this fun game on these fairly good servers.

Staff members must base their virdicts on the players response; we do not know why you killed a player unless you tell us in your report. With that in mind, since you only responded with "You threw a fucking harpoon at me" in your initial response, @Dolph1n handled the report correctly and tried to see if you saw the player throw the harpoon. If your initial response claimed that you used common sense to figure out he was the only 1 able to throw that harpoon, it would have been a valid kill. Please try to include as much information in your report to explain your reasoning so that staff members can see your point of view. I have added you on steam if you have any more questions.
