Well you might be right (and that's a big "might be") in saying that AK is OP.

But then if you remove custom weapons for the VIPs, there would be less incentives for people to donate. Yeah some might say it's pay to win, but I think that in order for the server to grow, there needs to be incentives for people to donate. Also, since they donate for the servers to run, they should deserve something back. Yeah of course you can say that VIPs donate for the server so that VIPs can play on there, but then again other players would enjoy free-riding. It's a trade-off.

And then now for the OP part from somebody who has played as non-VIP for a full year, I honestly think AK vs. shotgun is 50/50. AK has a better chance of winning if the user stays far enough to make the shotgun buckshots spread out, but if shotgun users manage to get close to their targets, they can even get one-hit shot (even if it's not one-hit, the ensued red screen is fatal too since it's hard to return fire). Also, AK users need to learn to control the recoils, burst fire, and actually aim for the heads, which is how some AK users triumph over other AK users. In a nutshell, they award different game play style.

Secondly, non-VIPs can always follow VIP players, wait for them to die or kill them if their roles allow to take their guns. Yes, I was once famous on Vanilla for stalking VIPs to get their AKs.

Honestly, from my experience as non-VIP, the AK-Shotgun gap is minimal, if non-existent. AK used to be more OP but even back then there were ways to overcome it. So in a nutshell I don't see any reason to remove custom weapons from Vanilla servers.

 

since the ak47 has high shooting speed u cannot miss a target who turned his back for u, unlike the shotgun he may survive till he can get a look to his name and kos or even damage him if the other one miss the second shot.
btw if "donating to help runing the server" as reward you get an overpowerful weapons
you can still donate to get primary weapons and not buffed weapons and for cosmetics.

 

Unless you have shit aim. Most of the time, both shotgun and ak can do the job of finishing off a person who has his back turned without giving that person a chance to kos the person shooting him.

 

ak can do the job pretty well with all type of aims
you need to be 100%close to the one u want to kill with shot gun to deal 1 shot kill

tbh if shot gun can do t he job in Close range, the ak47 can do it in medium and some time long range combat ????? shotgun in vanilla is not a jack hammer or Winchester 1887, m16 is shit, mac 10 lol wtf, scout its can be handy if u can lend headshots but with fire rate ur pretty done after messing the first shot

 

M16 is actually good if you're good at aiming. It's a great headshot weapon.
You're not suppose to fight close combat with a scout. It's a rifle for fuck's sake.
Mac 10 is decent. Not stellar, but still not a bad option.
Shotgun is never meant to be a jackhammer.

There has to be a balance between ak and shotgun. Shotgun tends to perform better close range than AK does whereas AK tends to perform better at medium range than the shotgun does. However, there are weapons (m16 and scout) that are better than AK when going for long distance.
