Mass shooting in Las Vegas

It is very unfortunate to hear about this, but its time like this where we need to band together, events like this will hopefully make us as a race stonger, or at least thats what i hope for.

 

Jason Aldean isn't that bad. I mean, he's pretty awful but he's not that bad.

There's no such thing as "too soon" in my opinion, but some jokes can be in poor taste. That one wasn't half bad because it's more of a kick at country music, so I think it's perfectly okay.
If she were making edgy jokes about it for the sake of being edgy, yeah that's just fucking horrible and not funny. You can joke about this, as a matter of fact I encourage it; it's pretty rough at the moment.

 

It was at least good to see many volunteers helping as much as they can during the commotion even though many were in harm's way. it shows the good people can do when there's a common threat to everyone's lives.

 

Jason was *ok* from the start, then got rich and famous and money hungry. I know a lot about country music **cough** I really love the genre, and what is considered "country" is not country at all.




Also glad there's a gofund me. I donated 5 dollars of my hard earned lawn mower money.

 

while this is pretty funny, this thread is serious. he shot 600 people, and killed 59. people where actually effected by it. meme about it later. for now, we actually give a shit.

You don't have to be directly connected to victims of the attack to be hurt by it. Just hearing about those things is enough sometimes. Words won't bring them back, but that doesn't mean joking around is the right alternative. People are genuinely hurting, whether or not they are connected. Being a edgy and trying to be "funny" about it is pretty much spitting in their face.
There's a thing called tact. It's about knowing how and when to approach sensitive topics - and more importantly, what shouldn't be said. And a grown up person should know that sometimes a little tact is required even if you think the whole thing is unneeded. It's not about being right, it's about not being a total ass.

And yeah, 58 may not be a large number. But people are not numbers. We can't compare deaths like it's money. Death, especially of innocents, has a strong sentimental meaning. Each of these 58 people had an entire life story behind them. People who cared about them. Family, friends. There are names and faces behind those numbers.

I don't mind if this doesn't matter at all to you. You may not see any importance in this, which is totally fine and up to you. But the least that can be expected from a person with some sense - and you are such a person - is to show some basic respect by not spitting in others' faces when such sensitive things come up.
