Rejected Remove custom weapons from Vanilla server

Sure, VIP and higher gets to spawn with AKs, but gun doesn't make TTT all the time. You can strategize, ambush and catch them offguard before they can react, etc. There is unlimited possibilities on how to kill people with AK. However, I'll acknowledge the fact that AK tends to be one of the best weapons people can have on vanilla because of its ability to outclass other weapons, but that doesn't mean other weapons are useless. Hell, a person with good aim can do well with the vanilla weapons the TTT spawns in.

Depends on circumstances. A person with shotgun can do as much damage and chaos as a person with AK. Again, use common sense, and don't go attack people that are grouped up. 5 people ganging up on a lonesome person are obviously going to be a problem for anybody regardless of the weapon unless they're all utterly shit at aiming or at low hp or something. But like I said, depends on circumstances.

There are a good chunk of weapons that aren't considered vanilla weapons. Galil, AWP, Barrett, Famas, p228, etc. I wonder if we remove all of these, will complaints about weapons being "high impact" disappear? No. It's not going to disappear. People will find ways to complain about something. Shotgun might be on the next chopping block since people even me can call it a scrub gun because it can greatly damage people when the moment arise. Furthermore, there are numerous of donors that play on Vanilla that uses AK. How are we going to explain to them that we removed AK from vanilla because it's "high impact" weapon? You're better off appealing to people that AK is better off being tweaked a bit to make it less powerful. In fact, @Opalium is doing this with data he obtains from people, which also includes people who complains about HK SL8 and AKs being overpowered.

That is completely false. Shotgun is basically a weapon where you can just hold down your left mouse button and move your mouse to have your cursor to be aimed at people. The recoil isn't that bad and can be readjusted after firing. That can be applied to most, if not every single, weapons. AK has recoil so let's apply your logic to it. You're most likely going to end up missing good amount of your shots, and while you miss your shots, you're going to get shot at. Furthermore, moving your mouse left and right while shooting is a waste of bullets. You're deploying spray and pray method, which does not work out all the time. You're better off aiming at people, preferably at their heads so you can get those headshot damage multiplier. This can be equally said for most, if not every single, weapons on SGM.

Now, AK's recoil can be easily controlled with some practice to the point that it can look smooth with little or no recoil. What makes AK stand out is its dps. You can look at this chart made by @Will-e . In fact, if you look at the chart, you can see that AK has one of the highest recoil in-game. Thus, in no way, you should be holding down your left mouse button and move your mouse left to right because the recoil is more likely going to fuck you up than just controlling the recoil while shooting it.

 

You say that the AK can kill a lot of people pretty quickly with its magazine size, rapid fire, and how it can kill in two headshots, but the main problem that people have when using the AK is its garbage recoil and a lot of times, it's really difficult to control where exactly you are aiming and it's easy to mess up. If your so worried about people using AK's, just use a shotgun because that's like the only gun that can take out a person using that gun depending on your distance from the opponent.

Alright. Here's the thing: Not everybody will speak up and praise it or defend it. Often times, the vocal minority tends to make themselves heard, while the silent majority tend to just mind their own business and move on.

Is it absolutely a problem that needs to be removed? No. Why tunnel towards one solution when there are multiple choices that we can go for such as what @Opalium is doing right now, tweaking the guns for gun balance.

 

Stop whining already. The shotgun is clearly the better gun that requires no skill to use and yet you still complain about how u cant spawn in with a gun that isnt even better? Just because vip players tend to have good skill does not mean the ak is OP. Like get real dude.

The fact you believe either of these makes me sad. The average VIP player is significantly worse than the average random. The only difference is there's less completely braindead VIPs compared to completely braindead randoms. But that's just most likely because they've never played TTT before whereas, by default, VIPs will have played it before.
The only scenario where shotgun beats AK is if you're getting shot at from behind because the shotgun has the chance of the turnaround one hit kill. They both kill with 0 effort if you get the jump on someone but AK does significantly better in clearing 2+ players and in gunfights.

 

I only listen to me and the other voice in my head and we concluded it wasn't op and based of that huge number of participants I can say people doesn't think it's op.

I've seen someone swap from the AK after people were complaining and ended up killin everyone in his t round with a HUGE.
