It is super simple to make, and I don't really see a reason not to tbh. We have !thetime which displays the current time for you, when you could just open steam overlay or look at your clock. It's the same for !map where you could use `status` but why not make it easier for players that don't know that +1
Just as a clarification, if this were to be added it would be !themap or something along those lines. !map is for admin+ and it changes the map so that won't work haha
I like this. When I deal with forum reports they give us descriptions rather than the actual map name. +1
Since !map is already a ULX command, the command !currentmap should be added instead. Not really all that, but it aint nothing to make. +1
If you're in the middle of a round you don't want a giant tab taking up your screen, this isn't too much of a hassle to add and it's simple too.
Spoiler If I can remember this tip, i'll never have to worry about not knowing mapnames. And it might not be a specialised command for knowing the map like you suggested but it seems to work exactly like you wanted, with one command you can see what map is playing.
