  1. TTT reports not still investigating: 9831
Reports valid/"completed" out of the past 200 not still investigating: 155
    Percentage valid/"completed": 77.5%

TTT ban appeals not still pending/duplicates: 5729
Approved out of the past 200 not still pending/duplicates: 100
    Percentage approved: 50%

Deathrun reports not still investigating: 116

    Percentage valid/"completed": ~80.172%

    Shoutbox ban appeals: 51
    Approved: 14

What do you think about these numbers? Are they as good as they can get or is there room for improvement? How do you think the staff and community can go about improving them?

If people stopped reporting petty harassment, 1x RDM and "Group trolling" on the forums then they wouldn't look as bad

Well considering wink issues most of the SB bans, I'm not surprised that only 27% are accepted

All TTT reports that have been finished (completed and invalid): 9831
Reports valid/"completed" out of the past 200 not still investigating: 155 - I honestly have no idea what the fuck this means. I can only assume you mean that these are the number of reports still being investigated out of the past 200 reports, and if that is the case just put "Reports yet to be finished: 5"
Percentage valid/"completed": 77.5% - where does this come from? The 200 or the 9831 number?

TTT ban appeals not still pending/duplicates: 5729 - Next time don't do this "No still pending" bullshit. Just use the total number of all ban appeals and subtract the number that are duplicates and just say it it's the total. You are comparing fractions, when you are meaning to be comparing the whole thing to a part.
Approved out of the past 200 not still pending/duplicates: 100 - just say appeals lmao. "Approved out of the last 200 pending ban appeals (not counting duplicates): 100
Percentage approved: 50% - This number strikes me as bullshit. It's too perfect, which makes no sense because you were very percise in the first percentage. Come to think of it, on the last one you just said "fuck it" and threw in an approximately.

Deathrun reports not still investigating: 116 - Finished deathrun reports: 116
Reports valid/"completed" out of the ones not still investigating: 93 - Number of valid deathrun reports. Stop with this "Not still investigating" it's just super fucking confusing.
    Percentage valid/"completed": ~80.172%

    Shoutbox ban appeals: 51
    Approved: 14
Percentage approved: ~27.451% - WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST DO THIS FOR THE REST OF THE GODAMN THREAD, I CAN UNDERSTAND THIS SHIT BUT I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THE REST OF IT.

I took a look at the numbers and I decided to do it myself because I don't trust your numbers.

Total number of TTT Reports (Starting on page 420 as that is when tags are used to represent reports that are completed as valid or invalid.): 8380
Total number of TTT Reports Completed: 6697
Total number of TTT Reports Invalid: 1683
Percentage of Reports Completed (rounded to nearest tenth): 79.9%
Percentage of Reports Invalid (rounded to nearest tenth): 20.1%

Total Number of TTT Ban Appeals (starting on page 256, as that is when tags were added. This number is ONLY ban appeals with tags):
    5089
Total Number of TTT Ban Appeals Approved: 2227
Total Number of TTT Ban Appeals Denied: 2862
Percentage of Approved Appeals (Rounded; nearest tenth): 43.8%
Percentage of Denied Appeals (Rounded; nearest tenth): 56.2%

What do I think of the numbers? I think you took a bunch of numbers and just threw them at the wall. No graphs that show how these numbers are changing, or if there is any trends that are noticeable. You basically just tallied up all the reports and then said how many of them are approved or denied. After that it was just a matter of throwing a percentage up there as if to say that you believe you've got this much chance of being unbanned, without taking into account that all appeals/reports are different. You are comparing apples and oranges, because some reports have no basis to them, and others have a lot of evidence. You are saying that no matter what you have a 79% chance of getting your report marked as complete JUST because you compared a bunch of mindless rdm reports with high value and high importance reports.

EDIT: Fixed the mistake I was too lazy to fix because Python bitched about it. The numbers are accurate now, still can't get 100% because the percentages aren't completely accurate, rather a rough estimate because my calculator can't get that specific.

    6697 + 1683 = 8380, not 8385

    2227 + 2862 = 5089, not 5115
Also, how is it even possible to have Approved be 43.5% and Denied be 56%. You started when there were tags, so where's the other 5%?

My point in this post being that everyone makes mistakes. No need to call someone out on it or get salty, especially when it was their own idea. I do appreciate you getting the more accurate numbers, however

Yes. The reports are off by 5 and the appeals about 20. The reason the percentages are off is because of that reason. This problem would have easily been fixed if I found the total by adding the invalid and completed reports, rather than finding them all separately. I was too fucking lazy to go back and redo it but now that you've bitched about it I'd be happy to.

  15. Out of the past 200 reports that are not still tagged "Investigating," 155 are valid or "Completed." That better?

Pending ban appeals aren't counted for obvious reasons, call it bullshit if you want but I'd like to see how you propose to categorize them as accepted or not (shocker: you didn't). The comparison being made is between the approved appeals and all recent ones, which sounds a whole lot like comparing the whole thing to a part. Going through every single ban appeal wasn't exactly appealing so the past 200 was a decently representative sample of the current trend.

I said what I meant and no one else got tripped up or had to remove relevant information.

Believe it or not, 100 divided by 200 is 0.5, which equals 50%. Try it yourself if you're still skeptical. There's a tilde to show that I rounded a long decimal to three places, which is common practice and easy to understand.

To you and seemingly no one else. It's quite clear that "not still investigating" means "not still investigating."

Maybe because that's the only category with no posts with a status besides approved or denied.

I think you found something a little hard to understand for one reason or another and decided to project your own meaning and interpretations on certain parts, getting mad at that instead of what was actually presented. I never said what the numbers "say" or what "chance" they give anything. If you took it that way then look at yourself, no one in the replies mentioned anything like that and it was clearly not stated in the OP.

Your numbers do the same thing, seeing as how both posts are just numbers and percentages with no added context or message. See how that works? Throwing your own thoughts at something doesn't change what it actually is.

I would advise you to indicate that it's an approximation and not 100% accurate but when I did that you called it me just saying "fuck it."

  16. I also thought it was pretty funny that despite not trusting my numbers and going through every single report and appeal, the numbers end up very similar.

    My valid report number: 77.5%
The accurate one (assuming Pacifist's numbers are actually right): 79.9%

    My valid ban number: 50%
The accurate one (assuming Pacifist's numbers are actually right): 43.8%

Unsurprisingly to most, the numbers from the past 200 of each are representative of the larger total, and even more representative of the current state of reports and appeals (since it is the current state of reports and appeals).

Yeah I didn't trust them, so I did my own research and found them to be very similar. Good work. Please stop getting hot and bothered at me, I'm not saying your post is bad i'm just saying that I didn't understand the post and that I disagreed with the purpose.

The only ones people care about is their own tbh. Most don't care about the others just as long as theirs is approved or accepted.
