The hex shield acts as a physical barrier from bullets, projectiles, explosions and other harms. This is most likely what happened. The jihad explosion was simply blocked by it. Jihad works as an explosion in a specific radius, but that explosion can be blocked by cover. If I remember correctly, the same logic is applied to grenades and any other explosive in TTT.

 

So, I'm assuming that the jihad activated a 2 dimensional blast radius (lets assume at the hip level), and since my location was within the shield, I was protected, but the explosion activated outside?

 

That t-buddy walking into the tester was a clear facepalm moment.

 

After that I got a harpoon kill and a knife kill. A little later I died miserably, oh well.

 

Heh I had 474 karma last night and sprayed into a detectives head with an entire ak47 magazine and couldn't kill them.
