Metagaming, group trolling, ghosting, etc​

One of the many examples of their group metagaming/ghosting, Lucy actively opening the T room with her friends walking in. She walks in, one has a Harpoon, she does nothing. Fight breaks out, she runs away without firing a shot.

Using Drive mode, it's apparent that nearby Ts did not have line of sight on the button to open the T door, and she did.

Thanks for taking the time to report me and our EU2 friends.

I can see how you think this may be metagaming (even though i'm not too sure what it is myself, had to ask carned when he messaged me) but my intentions were not bad when doing this.

I opened the T room for fun, to make the game a bit more interesting, and as far as i know there is no rule against having fun? You were dead at this point so it wouldn't have effected your T round, and none of my t buddies complained, we were all laughing and joking around, and as you can see in the demo, even people were killing.

I cannot speak for the actions of people who were not me, for example the harpoon guy but honestly i think it was all in good fun and no one on the server minded our fun apart from you, as you can see many people joined in and have fun with us on the server.

From what i can tell EU2 is a much more fun server than the other american ones and the mods tend to have more fun there as well hence why opening the T room would be fun, it would only ruin my T round if i did it.
I think your idea of trolling is a little misled and is our actions are more likely seen as fun and not trolling.

The idea of us being a "group troll" is also bizarre to me, i'm not sure how having friends on the server is trolling, if having the same name makes us a troll to you then i'm sorry but many EU staff don't see us as a group of trolls. I'm sorry if you felt i ruined the round by having fun with the T room but I really don't this this is metagaming, trolling or even ghosting, just having fun!

I was another witness to their group trolling, and I possess evidence that can be uploaded if requested.

I went onto EU2 to see what was going on, and was able to record some footage of them working together to troll people, including me. Here are some examples of what I witnessed:
- RDMing a bunch of innocents with a frag grenade and attempting to get away with it by claiming that it was a misclick
- Offering to buy another player VIP if they RDMed me enough times*
- Goading me into RDMing them for hiding/disposing an unidentified body
- Constantly buying traitor in the pointshop and targeting me

*I misheard this and thought they were saying how they might give away my IP address if I was RDMed enough times

 

@Rhienor slayed Pikachu and Lucy for their RDM's during their time on the server.

@Rhienor would have dealt with this on the server, it is irrelevant to this current report.

Not against the rules, you make the decisions about who or who you do not kill.

You can only buy T once per map so they cannot constantly kill you.

Furthmore to add onto this, joining serves to specifically record and target certain players is backseat moderating and is against the rules, staff are able to deal with players easily. You specifically joining a server to record evidence against a player that is targeting and thus makes your evidence bias.

@Rhienor will be able to clear up the RDMs.

Pikachu was indeed slain twice, as I distinctly recall your refusal to play for fear of him rdming you despite the fact it would have ended up as an rdm ban and a harassment warning for Pikachu.

I warned Pikachu to stop harassing you after you told me that you felt you were being harassed which I hope cleared some bad air between you two.

Regarding the traitor purchases, you can only buy T once a map, something I thought we clarified in-game, settling with his being lucky instead of specifically targeting you.

As for the VIP issue, I followed up the IP thing but as you may have misheard it, we didn't chase him down on that one.

Hey Alice. Sorry for the wait.

After watching the demo, I agree that some of the actions here can be seen as metagaming. The act I'm speaking about is opening the T room while knowing innocents can enter. However, in situations like this, there is the need to take into account what were the results of the action. Here, we can see that while Lucy might've led the innos into the T room, this did not bring any advantage to her as multiple players entered. Metagaming is about actions that harm the experience of others on purpose due to their nature - for instance, a detective going with a traitor, letting him attack others and then joining in once the other player shoots because it's a T act. This has a direct impact on the experience of others - those players who had to unfairly fight against two players who shouldn't be working together. However, what we have here wasn't like this at all. Lucy might've let innocents into the traitor room, but this did not impact anyone's experience. If there were traitors hiding in the room, for instance, that would've been a different story, because she would've blown their cover on purpose, thus ruining their plan or even leading to their death. In this case, on the other hand, Lucy's action had no actual affect. Innocents going into the Traitor room are aware that they are responsible for what may follow, as they are performing a T act. This is already up to them.
Now, I agree that the action itself should be avoided to begin with. I will be speaking to Lucy about this and warn her that this is something she needs to avoid in the future. Her response (above) to the report shows that she had no mean to do any harm, and this lines up with what happened in reality.
As for the other offenses mentioned in your report - not killing a player wielding a harpoon and not participating in that firefight - these actions are not mandatory. Players are allowed to choose whether or not to react to T acts done by others (though they might be GBAed for it, but this is already their responsibility).

To sum it up, I will be accepting the report, but I will be letting Lucy off with a warning this time. Should the same situation happen again, she will be dealt with as required.
