Add a delay to pointshop purchases

Currently buying guns from the pointshop is a quicker alternative to reloading, faster than most of the most used guns' reload times (hk sl8, m16, ak47) and gives an immediate advantage on the battle field.

Adding a little delay (.5 seconds to 1.5 seconds) to receiving your purchase from the pointshop should level the playing field a bit more and encourage more conservative gameplay. It should still have a slight advantage, as you are spending pointshop points. But less so of one to balance gameplay a bit.

Anything that slows down traitors and makes them think rather than just aimlessly gun down the entire server is something i'm all for, and I think everyone would love a little challenge back in the game! +1

 

When you're in pointshop you can only move with WASD at best, giving you a further disadvantage compared to being able to reload and use your mouse.

 

I can support this if it stops the spam of certain weapons being used in a short time. +1

 

I agree that this would be a good idea in regards to promoting stealth and strategic based gameplay during traitor rounds. +1

Testing in the servers the fastest advantage you get is 2-3 seconds. Also glad to see some folks admitting they know the true reason behind the suggestion.

 

To some it may be, I suggested it since I would like to see high level game-play using strategy and stealth equally as promoted as other types. There would still be a slight advantage, since you are spending points, but simply less of to balance.

 

Is there ANY other player that buys weapons instead of reloading besides me... lol.

 

If this were to be implemented, I want to suggest that it only affects in-round purchases. I sometimes like to stock up on my ammo pre-round so I'm not searching for it later on.

 

Speaking of special snowflakes but yea there are many others, I also am one of those players But yea I also agree with what @MangoTango said. A lot of players buy guns during pre-round to save up ammo. I believe this should be disabled after the round started. However to counter my own argument here some like to buy several frag grenades to clear out spots like the roof on Assault and the teleporter on 67th way.

 

And how do you buy weapons mid gunfright then hmm?

 

I don't, i switch to my sidearm. If I loose that fight I either shouldn't have picked it or was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

 

This threads main purpose is to solve people buying guns mid fight, something that only I do.

 

I doubt that you're the only person, but it seems to be a mechanic that needs to be fixed.

 

I'd honestly bet that I am, considering that without macros its a suicide mission.

 

Regardless if you are or you are not, buying guns during the round without a delay is a problem on the server and there really should be a delay.

 

If you're buying a gun from the pointshop, you can still easily be shot while buying it. It's not that big of a problem, I do think there should be a short delay though.
