Throwing a Smoke Grenade should be considered T Baiting and be a killable offense

It seems weird to me that throwing a smoke grenade is not a killable offense in the rules. The rules state that throwing a discombob, incind, or frag are killable offenses, but throwing a smoke is not. I know the explanation for this is that a smoke doesn't do harm, while all the others do, however, as a player, you don't know what kind of grenade it is until it goes off. To draw a parallel here, shooting directly over somebody's head is generally considered T baiting. Why then, is throwing a smoke not? If somebody throwing a smoke near you, it follows a very similar scenario. What are everybody else's thoughts/opinions on this?

Why should you be able to kill anyone for throwing a harmless grenade? What, should we start killing people who are stacking props in a corner just because they have the potential to prop-kill someone? Oh wait, how about if someone's aiming their weapon at you then we can shoot them too! In short, no and this isn't a very sound argument in my opinion.

Thanks for your thoughts! I think this is differentiated from your examples because the action of throwing a smoke grenade is the exact same for any other grenade, which all cause harm and are killable offenses. In this scenario, you have no way to tell what they threw until it goes off (at which point you may be dead). If somebody is aiming their guy at you, they haven't committed an action.

You do know you can run away from a thrown nade and wait on it to go off to check right? Also on vanilla there is 3 nades where the discomb is hard to confuse from a smoke and the inc and smoke doesn't have the same colors. And on modded it's also a frag which also doesn't look like smoke, so it's better to just try notice what type it is. -1 as this would leads to way many unnecessary deaths that there really isn't a reason to have.

Now for my opinion on this.

Note that the grenades that are "traitorous" can deal damage by whatever way they can.
Smoke grenades do not deal any damage. They just affect visibility.
Discombobs can deal damage by pushing people off ledges.
Incendiary grenades can deal damage by explosion AND fire.
Frags can deal damage by explosion.

Traitorous acts usually fall into three categories.
    1. Possessing a traitor only item.
    2. Not identifying bodies.
    3. Doing something that could potentially harmful someone.
Bullet point 3 is probably the most important aspect of traitorous acts. I mean, your job as a traitor is to kill the innocents and detectives. With that being said, that defeats the idea of your suggestion.

    Other Reasons:
    1. A non-lethal grenade such as a smoke grenade does not place anyone in harms way.
    2. Each grenade has a different models.
    3. Most of the time, you can run from the AOE before the grenade explodes.
    4. The grenades make different sounds when throw vs dropped.
    5. For shooting being t-baiting: a person may be actually attempting to shoot you.
This seems like a possible knee-jerk suggestion; maybe you were slain for this. Remember that changing one rule to fit your playstyle isn't always what's best for the rest of the community. I could only imagine the amount of karma bans.

Terrorists love smoke grenades. They use them all the time, I've heard of colored smoke shows that they put on in terrorist town. There is nothing traitorous about that, matter of fact it's more terrorist if you don't enjoy smoke grenades.

I was not slain for this, I was simply bringing it up as a discussion point to hear people's thoughts and share my opinion on it as well. Everybody is entitled to their opinion on how the game should be played, mine is simply that I think there's a much more blurred line here than people are willing to admit.

Throwing a smoke has no harm what so ever to innocents. The only reason grenades are kosable is because they can damage players. -1

-1 One of your points is that you cannot distinguish between different types of grenades when in fact you can.
Discombobs and frags are green and round
Smokes and incends are cylindrical in shape and yes they do look similar but incends have 2 orange stripes on the cylinder, smokes have 2 grey stripes.

frags make a noise, incends got the color to them, and discombobs bounce around and are egg shaped

smokes are easy to id, just make sure you know who throws what so you can KOS them if its not a smoke

I'd write a macro but it'd prob be cheating
