so on TTT west a player said I sniped someone then people said ok kos Gage (aka me)
I was a T but this guy (cats on crack) said I sniped someone so i report for false kos (Opalium) handled the report and he told me that saying someone killed someone is not a KOS I then lost connection and had to restart my computer so i did not get to see his reply so my question is if saying someone killed someone is not a kos then what is it? thank you.

You cannot kill someone unless they are specifically called out, like "they are a T" or "KOS them"

So this instance would not be considered a KOS

The guy who said "<this guy/player> killed a guy" is not subjected to calling a false KOS as what the player said is not a valid KOS.

but i did not snipe anyone so its what he did is not punishable

    Incorrect
    "Guy commited traitorous act"

    Correct
"Kos guy for commiting a traitorous act"

This is how koses work. If you say "Kos so and so" or "So and so is a traitor" that's alright. If you say something like "so and so had a T gun or passed an unided" that's not alright and it's not a kos. If you kill someone for that, it is rdm because it's not a kos.

If he just said that you shot, he can't be punished for saying that as he never kosed you.

so if i said so and so killed someone or sniped someone and I mean someone like if i said so and so sniped someone i dont give a name they get killed because of that is it punishable

If you say I shot someone, then someone else KOSes me off your word, if I die because of the KOS, whoever called the KOS will be slain, not you.

You're asking if you have to give the name of whoever so and so killed? In an actual KOS, no you wouldn't. "KOS so and so because he killed someone!" is a valid KOS and can be acted upon. However, what you gave as an example does not fall within our rules for a valid KOS. Pacifist explained it well.

Of course, had so and so not killed anyone, it would have been a false KOS, and whoever called it would have been held liable for their death.

If someone says "(name) killed a guy" that is not a kos if someone killed you for that it is infact rdm. A kos would be "KOS (name)" or "kill (name)"
