I came across this situation where everyone on the server rtv-ed again and again but they were still not satisfied with the maps they picked even after a few rtvs. The rtv serves to let players choose another map when they are not satisfied with the map they are playing on. Taking away the rtv is definitely not a good solution, but I think that having a cooldown thingy for the rtv is a better solution (e.g after 2 rtvs there's a 10 minutes or 20 minutes cooldown, or 2 maps cooldown duration.). Anyways, I am going to remain neutral for this suggestion.
I think that the RTV option should only be available when the map is chosen randomly. As with the following map vote, if there is no random option, then players could only blame themselves for their map choice. I don't think removing the random option is really the right move, since it actually makes people play maps that usually don't get selected.
Me and 2 other elites/legendaries team up and use our 12 RTV's when us 3 don't like a map. It's really convenient when I don't want to play the map that the other 20 people voted on.
I went on a RTV spree a couple weeks ago with a bunch of people and others got really frustrated. One person wanted to try out lazertag soooo bad, but he couldn't load in fast enough. He loaded in so slowly he always missed the first round, and it meant he never got to play, as we RTVed the first round every time. Yeah, he could've gone to a different server, but sometimes other servers aren't really populated. He was essentially blocked from playing. Maybe only allow RTVs on the second round and beyond? Food for thought.
RTV isn't really something you can abuse - you need a group consensus to do it. So, if rtv spam is there, that means that the players have a majority who wish to do so. They want to play the game that way, a different map as fast as possible every time. If that's how people want to have fun, which I do, and they are able to get a majority consensus, then it's a completely fair thing to do. Sure there are a few people who might not like it, but again, if rtvs get passed, it means that more people wanted it vs. no rtv. Majority rules.
The majority isn't always right. Like I said before, RTVing the first round of every map means slow loaders don't get to play at all.
That's not the fault of the players who choose to rtv, and besides, if that's actually a problem, theres plenty of servers they could go on where players dont do this. I highly doubt all of the SGMod servers are rtving every map 24/7.
Actually it is the fault of the players who choose to RTV, 'cause they're the ones actually doing it. I'm not saying we should change it, but it can be a shitty thing to do. And like I said before, sometimes the servers aren't always populated, usually just 1 when time is down. Are you suggesting these players leave SGMod servers because players don't want to be kind and accommodate slow loaders??
If 24 people are having fun and 2 peoole arent, I can honestly accept that. Majority rules, cant keep everyone happy.
I'm pretty sure I suggested what I, quite literally, suggested. Is it a bad thing for Americans to elect their president democratically? Oh god, how could our government be based on such a sham! Think about the minority that didn't vote for Obama! What a travesty...Those people who voted Obama are horrible people...
I never said it was a bad thing, you said that it wasn't their fault, it clearly was, the same way democratic leaders being elected is the people's fault. That's all I'm saying.
As Jaysu said, the implementation of a cooldown system for RTV'ing would be a neat addition. Maybe once every 2 map changes or once every 20 minutes would be sweet. (Maybe donators get less cooldown time I don't know.)
What is the point of having 40 maps when we only play the same 8 maps in a fucking day because rtv is a thing? If a server has 36 players 5 VIP+ can overturn a map vote. It's in no way a majority it's 5 players overturning everyone else vote. I'll go with an exemple. Museum get 20 vote from different players and win. 5 vips+ or higher rank decide they don't want to play museum. Those other 20 players really wanted to play museum but 5 players are able to say no fuck off. The fact that a lot of people are ok with this is insane.
How is it the majority rules if 3-4 people can outvote the majority... Pretty much lets you pay to have your opinion valued over others. Kind of stupid, IMO. Just make everybody have 1 vote.. How fair would it be in real life if all the rich motherfuckers got to vote multiple times during presidential elections. Defeats the purpose of the voting system.
>Round Ends >Vote Map Shows Up >Most players voted random maps or bad maps (eg. Lazertag(I actually like this map)) >The most voted will be the next map >60 second Pre round >One Player will say "I hate this map everyone !rtv!" >Spamming !rtv is started both text and voice chat >Rock the vote is successful >everyone started to vote random maps again I actually hate this because my game is very slow to load in non-vanilla servers (except EU2 idk why) so +1 to this suggestion.
This is all in a row and said player pay for RTVs. The worst part is that it is the only US server populated this late at night. Just play EU. Most ppl there are new and do not know what rtv is :3 And don't make all ranks have 1 vote cuz it's the only reason I buy rank plus if everyone got 1 vote EU is doomed with haven all day >.> And as long as I have played I have never seen rtv on multiple maps so I can't say I feel it's a problem. -1
