I think that !rtv should be locked if you have !rtv'd the previous map (so you can't just keep rtving maps and never get to play a full round).
I appreciate that you don't want people to !rtv continuously, but I feel like the system is already pretty hard to use, as is. Rarely do enough people !rtv to change a map, and almost always it's because the map really is bad/ never picked. The system is in place to make you enjoy the time on Sttt more thoroughly, and I feel like locking it at any point limits its ability to do so.
No it's abused constantly and it needs to stop. Every day I play 10+ hours and what happen is non over played map gets rtv'ed. To make it worst vip+ are often the one starting the rtvs and paying other for votes. It get asburd when 10 map are rtv'ed in a row. It's happening right now on west. Kaceytron is a big offender. Think about this. 20 vote are needed there is 3 vip+ and they rtv every map. 12 vote right there. Another solution would be to make rtv only be 1 point even for higher ranks.
I am not trying to prevent !rtving, im trying to prevent !rtv abuse, something very different. If people rarley !rtv, this system shouldn't be a problem.
yeah and if the next 5 maps are bad too we need to rtv them, that's why the feature was added guys right?
Let's say the server rtvs lazertag and voted random and gets rats kitchen, we would rtv again. Who want to play subpar maps when there are good maps
i'm not saying we should prevent people from rtving twice, that's gonna happen but people are gonna get triggered if the map changes every round
If you want to prevent people from getting triggered shut down the Internet and let nobody in interact with each other. People will get triggered no matter what
I have been present for like 4 rtvs in a row before, most of the time I really don't care. But I know others do, as I hear them complaining. SO with that being said - I think this would be a good idea (not allowing to rtv if they rtved the previous map). +1
Its a democratic system though. Its not like two people get to decide if the map changes or not, because you need a majority of players to !rtv before anything happens. Because I feel like the system works as is in a fair and democratic way, and adding this sort of limitation would only hurt the server as a whole; -1
There was a similar suggestion, like give people two rtvs in a row and restrict the third. Clearly, this would present a problem if the third map was let's say the old MC mythic ruins map which was broken. Or one of your modded servers shitty maps. If we do it EVERY OTHER map where we can rtv, the same issue would occur. So there's no real solution to this other than have a staff member intervene to stop the rtv-ers. Sure, there's complainers if we have 4 rtvs in a row, but there's more people upset if you're stuck on the shittiest of maps for 30 minutes. I'd only be for reducing the # of votes donators can get to a minimum or back to 1. That could lessen, but not fix this issue. -1
Back in my day there was no !rtv on vanilla, it just cycled between the 2 maps and played 10 rounds on each and we were happy with it!
Successive rtv'ing does have a negative effect on your experience as it disrupts your game. Still, there is a need for it in case a map is chosen which the majority of players dislikes. That is also exactly the reason why I feel the root of the problem of rtv'ing lies in the fact that the majority of players votes for a random map. These two concepts contradict each other so much that it constantly amazes me to see players vote for 'random', only to complain directly afterwards. That's why I'd much rather disable the option of choosing a random map, instead of taking away the possibility to rtv.
I'll agree with any other solutions presented here: either remove the random, or make VIP+ votes count as 1 (elite/legendary too)
