If somebody that is new to the server joins and is asking "what is considered a t weapon?" and chat is going so fast you have to press your bind that tells him what the donator weapons are several times, should it be considered spam? Not an appeal, open discussion @Cheebus
If its in the midst of the moment where a player is asking bc someone has an ak, then i think that waiting isnt the best option. On a side note, it is still considered spam sadly.
Spamming is completely subjective. This meaning what one Staff Member considers spam may differ from another; there is not a defined amount of seconds or a message counter that staff members use to determine what spam is. Verdicts are made based entirely on circumstance. I'll take your case as an example. Personally, when I was a Moderator I wouldn't have taken action unless you were essentially flooding chat with those messages as I find those things to be either relevant to gameplay, or helpful for the most part. But another Staff Member may view those messages as generally uneeded and determine that they are being sent excessively, and they'll ask you to stop. Neither of us are wrong, it's just a difference in what we consider spam to be. If a situation arises where you feel like you were gagged / muted inappropiately, talking to the Staff Member who did it about it would be your best first bet. Which is why I always say, if a Staff Member asks you to do something and it's not completely unreasonable, it's best to listen. Or if you have an issue, just simply ask them a question, shoot a pm to their Admin. The last thing you should do is continue doing what they just asked you to not do.
If you are repeating the same thing several times, it is considered as spam. Plus if everyone have answered won't it be unnecessary for you to answer the question too?
No disrespect to yourself, but I have found your binds to be annoying at times (but look who's talking...). Particularly this one: "Good game everyone! Except maybe Xil121..." It's triggered at the end of nearly every match, and no one seems to have a clue what its significance/relevance is. For years now I've pondered the question: "what does Xil121 mean!" Is it just some legendary players name that nobody knows? or is it what Google says it is, an LED light bar... And if you type the entire phrase "Good game everyone! Except maybe Xil121..." into Google, the only relevant search result is that of a Garry's Mod JailBreak server, who for some strange reason has chat logs saved of you saying this phrase. http://jbchatlogs.lifepunch.net/Jailbreak LifePunch 5/index.php?file=03-02-15_jb5.txt And so if Google only has one record of this phrase ever being said and the person who said it being YOU! then you and you alone must be the creator of this phrase. A phrase that only you and you alone understand! So please for the love of god tell me what it all means so I can put my mind at ease!
Lol vanilla bro Xil121 hasn't played in ages. It's a reference 1% of vanilla players currently will get so it's definitely irrelevant as fuck. Dont spam binds several times even if a chat is going fast. It's in the console, the person can go there. If they dont have console, then just scroll up in chat.
Xil121 is a play from back in the good Ol' vanilla days, even before we had "Gucci Tower". Before the pig barricading massacre of myself, @Fiefoe, and @MaulTPiss. This was back when Dan the Man was in his prime. Back when Jacob D. was the best detective in all of gmod. Back when The Law was merely a mod. Back when I had less than 100 hours. Back when I played on a Mac laptop. Admins... Moderators... Owners... Jackie... Long ago, the four lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when Jackie was banned. Only Xil, co-creator of #FJInc, could unban him. But when the server needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother (Maultpiss) and I discovered the new Xil, a streamer named Fiefoe. And although his shooting skills are great, he still has a lot to learn before he's ready to unban anyone. But I believe Fiefoe can admin the group #FreeJackieINC.
Personally, in that situation I'd let it slide. I guess I'm a little more tolerable with spam as I've been raised in the vanilla server exclusively for a huge part of my time here. In that situation, if player A's answer has been answered a minute before and people still continue to spam the answer, than yeah, I'd ask them to stop at that point. I guess it just depends on who you are or if it's just one of those days where you can't deal with it.
If you can use the mic, use it. Otherwise PM or whisper to them in game. They should know that If someone whispers to them , it must be important and will scroll back up.
Yeah ive had one guy (asshat) say two lines on binds can be considered spam, but then let another player use a bind 4 times and they wont flinch. All depends on the mod or admin. Some can be real dicks who are out to get you, while some can be decent human beings. Some people just lack a good sense of humour. I wish there was a definite rule on what is to be considered spam so asshats like the one im reffering to could go shove it.
