Getting a new keyboard within the next 24 hours. Going with the Corsair K95 RGB. Can't decide which "type" of keys to get. The red are quiet, and the brown are a bit louder. Other than that, does anyone have any advice for which one I should choose and why?
I can't say much @STONEY since I use the razer black widow chroma, which use green, the brown might be louder but there can be pros, if the only difference is noise your choice though my keyboard is clicky and a little loud but it's easy to get used to.
I have the k70 RGB with brown switches and I can say Brown keys are the way to go. lol Unless you like reds browns are pretty good, but everyone has a preference. Most of the keys are pretty loud, browns are a bit quieter in my opinion at least compared to blues.
I use browns, they are probably the best option. Red feel to mushy, blacks feel awkward, but Blues are a good alternative. IF you are looking to spend alot, I recommend torpes.
Cherry MX Red are vastly superior in gaming as well in general typing whether it be for school or work. I used a Razer BlackWidow back in 2012 for about 8 months, but then switched to a CoolerMaster Storm Quickfire Ultimate which uses red switches. Sufficed to say I would never use any keyboard if it doesn't have red switches. They require the least amount of pressure to actuate and there are no annoying clicking noises playing in your mic every time you use push to talk.
At is my current keyboard I love it, the lack of macros for me seems to be good and bad it'd feel weird for me as i am used to this as I used to have a razer anasi, with that one row for macros then I saw @STONEY keyboard lol, only problem is price it is like 195$ for his and mine was like 135 i don't think i'll upgrade for a long while.
