Answered Couldn't CRC map maps/cs_assault.bsp, disconnecting

So, whenever I try and join a server that has a cs map (Assault, Italy, or Dust) on gmod I am prompted with this error message. It is very annoying and I don't know what causes it. I have deleted an reinstalled the maps and I have looked online or a fix. Does anyone know how to fix this? It's very frustrating.

I don't have the game, CS but I do have all of the textures downloaded and put into my addons.

This is a RECENT thing. I have been able to play these maps on gmod and TTT in the past. This has only happened during the past few months or so.

*Edit* I am on windows 7 64 bit

 

You need to go http://www.seriousgmod.com/threads/a-guide-to-sttt-extended-rules-info-tips-tricks.12605/ here. At the very bottom is had all the content that you can download if its messing up, so just look through those and you should find it there. Hope this helps!

 

I belive there was a thread about couldn't crc (map name here) disconnecting. If someone wants to dig for it that would be appreciated, as I am at lunch and am currently busy. If not i'll dig for it when i'm open. (Sorry if this isn't helpful atm :/)

I do have csgo, I believe that it is a map directly from css

 

Your copy of the map is failing the good ol' cyclic redundancy check. In other words, you have a bad copy. (Or that your packets are being mangled beyond recognition, but I doubt that is the case.)
Pretty much anything could have caused this, so I'm going to cover as many bases as possible:

>Delete all copies of cs_assault from Gmod. (Downloads folder, addons folder, and anywhere else maps seem to spring up in Gmod's maze of files.)
>Download the map from a place other than where you got it last time. (Your original source might have a bad copy.)
>Place a copy of it in all the locations you deleted it from.
That should work. Probably.

Oh, and don't empty your recycling bin.
If this doesn't work, I can hash the bad copies of the map against mine to see if truly is a bad copy or not.

The best thing to do is to delete any versions of assault that you have, and to redownload it form somewhere. If you don't have CSS I recommend getting that.

 

Well he has the textures, so all he needs to do is delete the maps from the gmod addons folder, then join the server on CSS assault. This should download the correct map, and fix your issue

 

Are you able to launch the map in single player by any chance?

 

I had already deleted most of the files for it so I wasn't able to find it on singleplayer

 

Don't sweat it. Downloading it from the server should work anyways. Probably.
