Hello, for a while now I've been wondering why we play on the eye-sore map datmap. The map has practically no shadows anywhere which makes it look really poorly made. I found this as a first result for the map datmap and I was wondering why we arent using it. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=222957320 It has much nicer lighting in my opinion and looks like an actual map. I have no beef with the map itself even though it's kinda odd, but the lighting in the map is just weird the way it is right now. Reason I put a (?) in the title was because I looked up some other threads about datmap and saw that our version has some kinda edits done to it, so those might need to be re-done on this one too unless they are already fixed in this version. EDIT: Made a comparison picture for people that need to be reminded what the current one looks like.
We originally changed the map because players were glitching into the T room. This map has the same glitch. -1
"This map looks worse and has the same glitches as the previous version that looks better... -1" hello?
Oh, no you misunderstood. I meant the map we previously changed from had that glitch, and the version MiGGo is suggesting has the same glitch.
The current one looks full-bright because you have HDR set to off. Turn it on while you're on SGM's version.
Don't a lot of our maps have originally had some sort of small glitches that we've been able to fix before adding to our server though? wow I had no idea there was a setting that makes this much of a difference. Kinda weird though that every other map looks fine to me without that setting except for this one though.
It's dumb af, or not set-up properly. I don't complain because it allows me to see everything I want to, although it seems to be a somewhat unfair advantage for such a "miniscule" setting.
There is also Datmap v2 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=384171364 It fixes that glitch and has better visuals.
I'm pretty sure Datmap v2 is the one we have right now, and you only get those visuals with HRD enabled. Otherwise it looks like the one I showed above. So technically I was wrong and there's actually nothing wrong with the map, it just requires this one setting to be enabled that isn't required for any other map.
