You press your spring button Then once you get your mojo you start moving by "strafe" which is pressing the a and d keys to move. You use your mouse to align yourself forward. There is auto jump which can be turned on which means you can hold space and jump forever
This thread is a few days old but I thought it would be good to know. For me personally, I think auto jump is useful. This can be toggled in f1 in the serious gmod server. Steps: 1) Go straight and simply gain 260 or 300 speed (depending on whether or not you are holding your sprint) 2) Hold jump and release your W key (I am showing A and D hopping) 3) Hold jump and strafe with your mouse left and right. While doing this you will have to use A and D. When you are going left, you move your mouse to the left and push A. When you are going to the right, you move your mouse to the right and push D. Notes: If you want to go straight, strafe small! Better your turn (nice and slow), the more speed you will gain. When turning and pushing A or D, make sure you are doing this at the right time (ex: DON'T move your mouse left and push D).
While @NoHackJustGood Makes good points there is a lot more to bhopping than just this. Bhopping by itself is a easy skill to learn but a hard one to master. There are two different types of bhopping. Pre-speed bhopping(@NoHackJustGood ) and Strafe Bhopping (@Darkness ). I'll go ahead and explain both to help you understand this better. Pre-speed Bhoppping Requires understand the basic concept of how to bhop. Binds such as +left or +right are helpful Uses the momentum from Pre-speeding to bump you ahead of everyone else(mostly). Easiest to learn and understand Strafe Bhopping Constant practice either on Deathrun or Bhopping Servers. Binds will only slow you down You build up your speed as you strafe in the air Already ahead of everyone else due to constant speed increase Strafe bhopping will take you a while to understand and master. You have to practice Moving both your mouse and keys faster while in mid-air to gain speed without fail or D syncing.
It's okay to pre-speed in a few places depending on the trap. However in bhop servers pre-speeding won't do you any justice what so ever.
You want this thread. Helps out a bit and gives you a lot of players who can help out. http://www.seriousgmod.com/threads/bhop-101.21733/
Prespeeding in deathrun for the first few seconds in the spawn is usually a good idea to get a good amount of velocity, also if you lose velocity before a trap its a good idea to do that there. BTW I have no idea why you call them 2 different types of bhopping lmfao, while you bhop you're supposed to strafe, unless you just want to go like 350 velocity which is dumb, and prespeeding is only optional PS. Just look up how to bhop on youtube
Exactly most prefer to call it the wrong way but since so many people bhop in this fashion I just gave it it's own name.
And there is me, right @Yatty ? Hate to brag but I went to school before . @Darkness would be like "NoHack that was incredible! How did you do that?!" and I would be like you know I went to school. I would be rated best teacher or just the person who should have never tried to b hop
