Hello! The motd section for TTT as followed: Please consider rewording "random" prop damaging/killing to include "Accidental" Moderators such as Holo Wolf punish players for accidentally killing innos when clearing explosive barrels by slaying them for a round. To make clarification absolute, I suggest a rewording must be made to the motd in order to cause less confusion about rules. Thank you for considering my suggestion. And if you disagree with this suggestion please state your reasons.
Accidental RDM is still random. There is no issue with the terminology used in the MOTD. Doing something accidentally is still something that would occur randomly because you had no idea that it would happen. Hence the use of "randomly".
So you are saying when a user announces "I am clearing the explosives stand back." and a player with the intention of getting that user slayed next round purposely gets killed by the barrels. It is still his fault? This is why clarification is needed. And Mango, accidents happen but their not always random.
You don't need to shoot the barrels. Then anyone could claim. "I warned for it." and not be slain when they do it on purpose and kill a bunch of people.
In some maps, you do in order to keep yourself alive longer. It's apart of the game. (Community Pool is a perfect example when heading towards the innocent detector.) Regardless, having a moderator say "accidental RDM is still RDM" is not specified in the MOTD. Random RDM is, but not accidental. This is just about adding additional clarification.
Please refer to my last post. When playing detective this is necessary. No, obviously this is random RDM as the MOTD stated. This is not about removing "Random," but simply adding "Accidental" to help provide a more clear understanding to the players.
What defines accidental and with intent? I can claim an accident and by your logic i can't be slain. This is why accidental rdm is all under one blanket. Also there is never a need to use props in such velocity that would kill or damage as a player anyway unless you have malicious intent
Forgive me if I was not clear with my earlier posts. But I am stating when a moderator/admin states "Accidental RDM is still RDM" he/she is not stating "random" anywhere in their statement. I hear mods say this to often and it just needs to be clarified specifically. No, they are still to be slayed per the rules in the motd due to the fact that both random/accidental is included. Two explosive barrels placed next to each other do not expload at the same time when one is ignited. They will sometimes be projected from the first barrel's explosion, which could lead to "accidental" killing of other players. Thus because accidental would be included in the MOTD, players can no longer call abuse on moderators for being slayed for RDM. The path leading from the entrance of "Community Pool" through the first double doors behind the counter. There are barrels placed there at the ladder top and the ladder bottom, as well as the underground path leading to the detector. Along the way a Traitor could easily wipe out multiple players. Thus it would be wiser to clear them then risk getting insta-killed.
We can't assume what is accidental and what is random. Thats why Random=Accidental are considered the same thing. Nowhere is it required to shoot the barrels. And just like they picked them up, you can pick them up too and move them. But on no map do we have, is it required to blow up the barrels. Sure it makes it 'easier' for you. But it being easier doesn't mean it required for you to do it.
Again forgive me for repeating myself so much but... I understand you combine it under one word, and I will end it here as I have tried to make my point already. I just would like to see a little more clarity. Thank you again for considering my suggestion.
It doesn't need clarity, also your example of shooting the barrels is not an accident because you intentionally shot the barrel, thus it fills under random.
What carned says is correct. We have no intention on changing the wording so it can be somewhat loopholed to say you shot a barrel for the reason of clearing it out. Suggestion is locked. We thank you for your time.
