perhaps if the critical damage was increased a bit it could be a bit viable, but as it it's too weak, I don't think it should be on par with the mp7 either though.
What do you mean weak? It's like a 2 shot kill to the head just like the AK, 51-53* damage to the head, 15-25* to the body Pros of MP5: 1. high-ish damage 2. It's supposed to be, that's why it's only available as a traitor menu purchase. I agree the mp5 should be buffed slightly. Right now it just doesn't really compete with the other guns. Its damage is too low to compensate for such a slow fire rate. Either buff the fire rate slightly or increase the damage a bit.
While I agreed originally with this suggestion, after some number crunching,testing and the best T round I have had in a long time with the mp5. I think the mp5 falls into the same niche that the AK-47 does, except that it has a wholly different use, it is an excellent tool for not only finishing off wounded enemies ( even armored ones), assassinating lone targets with very little noise from close to mid range with no chance to shoot back or get even single key koses off, and pretending to be harmless. the problem with all of that is that is does struggle in a lot of stats; it's rate of fire is slow, only about 40%(more of an guess than anything because even the rate of fire is only posted in the code and I have not clue how to see that) faster than the m16(nilla) making it slower than most fully automatic weapons available , this wouldn't be a problem still if its base damage were as high, or even scaled to the m16 it's not however so in exchange it has an extra 10 rounds per magazine (not the best trade for an ambush weapon) in honesty the one thing that makes the mp5 balanced is that it does have the fire-rate and capacity of a typical CQB weapon you would see in just about any shooter as well as a mid-high critical damage, upon first use it seems that the weapon might not be able to hit the 2-hit head shots that it is capable of, but that's just because it's recoil is mostly horizontal (like the tommygun but a much smaller cone) throwing shots just outside of the expected hit zone however, if you can hit both shots you can make it into an at least mediocre ambush/fight ending weapon.
Just because it's a traitor-only weapon, doesn't mean it has to be ridiculously over-powered, because traitor weapons are silent anyway.
Imo guns that I feel should be buffed too: MP5- low fire rate that needs consistent head shots to be worth using but doesn't put out that much damage against the body KRISS Vektor - Low damage per shot and spits out its ammo quickly for a long reload time with little reward unless you're getting all head shots (although getting head shots means you can kill anyone with any gun really) SCAR - extremely low fire rate which is fine imo but I think it needs to hit harder to make up for it as the spread is fine since it's slow firing makes the recoil easy to manage HK45C- is basically a worse version of the P229 in every way: damage, fire rate, reload, recoil This is all just my opinion though so feel free to reply telling me why you agree/disagree.
I agree, increase the fire rate but balance out the head shot damage to make it more on par with the body shot damage, so that people won't complain about it being OP
