Two events happened recently that made me feel very proud of myself. Last week while travelling to university, I noticed a guy on a bus who had an illness he was clinging onto a guy who was helping him into university. Shortly after getting off the bus the guy fell over, and a lot of people just left him, and refused to help because they was going to be late. Even though I ran the risk of being late I felt I had to help. I eventually helped the guy he was with pick him up and walk him across the road to where his mum was waiting for him.

The next event that happened was during a time when I was chilling with my flatemates in our kitchen. One girl claimed she was feeling ill and passed out she woke up minutes later but myself and my friends demanded she go to the hospital. I paid for the taxi to get her and her friend there. My deeds may only be small but doing them made me feel happy.

If I win the giveaway instead can I have roller coaster tycoon deluxe ( its only about 8 dollars) and then you can donate the rest to a charity of your choosing.

I am attending an awareness walk for type 1 diabetes on October 25th. The organization is called JDRF. Someone very close to me is affected by this disease and she is a very strong person. But this disease can get really ugly and have severe side effects. It also severely affects the long term life expectancy and/or quality of life in the later years. It seems medical science has made progress and we are hoping for a cure sooner rather than later.

I sent you a private message with more information.

For anyone else that would like to donate to this organization, you can do so on their website or you can PM me for a direct link to donate in her name.

  5. Elite please and/or Charity.

I work with TVIA(Teen Volunteers In Action) an organization that has volunteers work to help charities in San Diego. Currently we are working with Brother Benno's to help find people of all ages suitable clothes to wear. We issue "clothe drives" and donations to help the needy. Now our group doesn't just focus on clothes, for example we do "Bread of life" which gives homeless people fresh and hot food. Our donation policy is kind of strange, but it works like this. We have $1,5,10,20,50,100,other(specific i.e. 37$) donation amounts. If you donate 5 10$ you are spreading 50$ from 5 charities, but if you donate 50$ in one go you are donating 50$ to one charity. I wanted to buy elite this month, but if I win this it will allow me to purchase a single 50$ one instead of 3 10$. I really want homeless to get Hot Food more often, so donating 50$ to Bread Of Life is what I really want.

I am the go-to-man for people contemplating suicide, for some reason. Not sure why, but it has seemed to always be this way. People tend to come to me for some kind of support even though there's literally nothing about me that would suggest that I could provide that; however, I've been doing it for years regardless and seem to be doing a good job cheering people up in some ways - inspiring me to create that SeriousTalks thread on here, as it really can be shameful how much talking about such subjects can be so unappealing to some. That kind of "sweep it under the rug" mentality of ignoring people who need to talk about these things seems to be far more unappealing and distasteful to me than actually talking about the issues. The human mind is brilliant, but fragile. If you can relate to someone's misery, you should show them you've been there and be there for them, and if you can't relate, well, as a human you surely will soon enough... (sorry if this doesn't make sense or sounds weird I'm not proof reading).

Mental health is extremely interesting to me, and I think understanding our own brains should be a much bigger focus of science and medicine, and I would like to, one day, do my own research in understanding the human brain and mental health.

I'm applying for the Elite and Charity, Charity I would want to go to: https://bbrfoundation.org, and the Elite I would like to go to...................... @Turquoise because I like his voice and I can't think of anyone else who isn't Elite.

I had to do a lot of volunteer/charity work in high school, as I went to a Catholic school and service learning was an integral part of our education. I had a lot of experiences with a lot of different groups of people, and I definitely think it was a positive experience for me overall to be exposed to different kinds of service.

Probably my favorite experience doing volunteer work, however, was working at an MDA summer camp for a little over a week. I decided to do that for a service project that we were required to do, although I really wanted to do a week as a counsellor there anyways since my close friend had done it the year before, and was talking a lot about how awesome it was for him. So, I decided to do it out of how fun/impactful it sounded from my friend, and because of the project I needed to do. For those of you who aren't familiar with MDA, it stands for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. They deal with people who are affected by a number of genetic diseases that lead to significant muscle loss, muscle weaknesses, etc. Often times, people affected lose differing levels of motor skills, and in extreme cases can lose function in some of their more important organ systems. There's obviously different levels of severity, and I saw a lot of that when I was at the camp, but in general, it's a serious condition that significantly impacts the lives of those affected.

When I was at the camp for a week, I was immediately shocked by how serious it was; I hadn't really been exposed to any kind of condition present in a person that required help from another person in everyday activities like walking around, getting dressed, going to the bathroom, etc. But being only a day in, I was definitely exposed to it; I don't think I got a hour to rest the whole week I was there. It really was a lot of work caring for the kids we were working with, and imagining how hard it is for the parents and caretakers for these kids all year round.

But what was most astounding to me was the energy and life that a lot of these kids had. At this point in my own life, I was going through a pretty hard time trying to find myself and decide what I wanted to do with my life. I had made some pretty major strides in my mental health prior to coming to camp, but after spending a week with the kids there, I really learned a lot about myself. I won't go into a lot of what I went through due to how personal it is to me, but I'll say that it was certainly a major milestone in my life, and a huge life-changing experience for me. I don't think I'd ever be able to repay the kids I worked with for what they taught me, and for the amazing experiences that I shared with them.

Side-note before I go on: if you ever get a chance to work with kids who are suffering from some kind of physical or mental condition, I would highly recommend taking the opportunity. Not only is it great that you're taking time to work with them, but it can be a very fun experience, and can be life-changing if you commit to it and put in your all. They learn from you, and you definitely learn a lot about yourself and life in general from them. Words really cannot express it.

If I'm selected for one of the charity giveaways, I'd like to give the community a chance to decide what charity we donate to. I'd also be willing to match the donation that'd be made, should that happen.

I go on these 5 miles walk called "Dalton's Heart Walk" and it's for donating to find a cure for cancer.
After the walk there are like 15 dozens of donuts and they're delicious. But ANYWAY I always donate to them because I want to. The walk if for a fourth grade teacher's son that died when he was 4 because he had heart cancer.
This is my entree for ELITE. Thank you for reading it!

I am currently working weekends at a Goodwill center and Fridays I go to downtown Chicago and buy homeless people meals. A good percentage of them turn out to be Veterans. It hurts to see our Veterans, AND our residents treated so poorly. I remember in High School, taking a field trip to Downtown Chicago at the Art Institute (Near Millenium Park) I walked out of a McDonalds, and a man asked me and a group of my friends if we could buy him a meal. We all had extra money left over, so we all bought him a meal with all of the money we had left.

    It came out to:
    7 Sausage McMuffins
    12 Hashbrowns
    3 stacks of pancakes
    2 large Orange Juices

Yes it was a bit much for him to hold, but the look on his face when we gave him the food.. was a look I will never forget. The feeling of helping someone who truly needs it, is a feeling... that will stick with me for the rest of my life.

I'm entering for Elite. If I can think of a Charity, I'll be sure to edit. (However, If I am chosen, Donate to a charity of your choice)

You are an extremely generous person @Rozboon. I'm sure whatever charities you donate to, and whoever the Elite(s) go to, are going to be very thankful.

When i was in high school a bunch of my friends at church went out and helped some of the less fortunate communities of Santa Ana in southern California by handing out food, clothing, blankets and we also did Christmas shopping for 4 families' children (families that did not make enough money to give their children Christmas gifts). We also went to a run down apartment complex and helped clean up the place and make the place more appealing and livable so the owner (an old lady) didn't lose it.

The newest thing I can think of (at the end of summer this year) I helped construct and will maintain raised community garden beds. These will be used to produce food for the surrounding community for the needy, as well as the food being free. Almost forgot, I attended the Heart Walk in Baltimore to show support for people affected by and survivors of heart disease. It's a bit personal seeing as how my uncle did die of a heart attack. Other than that I tend to donate to those disabled army charities like wounded warriors.

I'd just like to enter for the charity. Each year, a few people and I head down to this place called Fr. Dempsey's downtown to serve breakfast on certain weekends. Getting to meet the homeless and give them a warm meal while they do their best to get by in the cold, it really is touching. Hearing them converse and having one on one discussions with them really just opens your eyes about the prevalence of homelessness in the world, and how it affects so many different backgrounds. At the moment, I can't think of any charity that I'd like to have the donation be made to, but some from this thread that I like are C.A.Anna's charity and the JDRF charity, too.

Another charity that I've been working with lately, and I'm not sure if they're totally N.P. or not, is a program called T.A.S.K. They provide an ability for disabled children, who usually aren't picked for teams and are often subconsciously, and openly, sadly, discriminated against when it comes to their ability to partake in activities meant for "normal", non-disabled, children. They each have a team and a group of friends that they can really confide in and share moments with, as they are all going through similar struggles, and are able to learn from one another. These children are the most sweet, kind kids you'll ever meet, and giving them a home, somewhere they're always accepted and able to play without the fear of exclusion and facing jeers is amazing, and is something I think is fantastic to be able to support.

Threads like these really show the true meaning of what we're all about at SGmod and our true colors, and I love reading these posts.

    Love you guys.

I know this doesn't necessarily come from my 100% initiative, but earlier this year for a University project we were given a list of local businesses and organisations we had to choose from to make an online video advert for one of them. The organisation I and my group agreed was the Oaktree organisation. In short, Oaktree is young people leading a movement to end poverty; this is their motto and their goal. The advert they wanted to make was a short 30-second one to both raise awareness of extreme poverty and to interest young Australians to volunteer their time to help the cause. It's not much, but I would like to think that even if only a handful of people that watched the advert decided to either donate to or volunteer for the charity, it would have benefited a lot of people in need. Below is an image of advert's success on Facebook; I can't locate the YouTube version's success at the moment.

If I win, could I do a double donation to this charity? They know what they're doing and do it very well. Take a look at Oaktree here. Thanks Rozboon for the awesome opportunity!

Hello, I think I'll enter for both.
The charity, well not charity but more of an organisation that I have been working with is called ASFE or AsanteSanaForEducation. Asante Sana translates to "Thank you". It is an African, specifically Tanzanian, Organisation run by one American woman, Ashley Washburn. She recently had a large Youtuber make a video about it, and it damn sure touched my heart. She along with her colleagues provide free education for students from Kindergarden to University. They take donations for Uniforms, books, student fee, and more. I cannot tell you how grateful I would be if you would help me put money into this organisation. Me and my family are never in a good financial state hence I cannot afford to donate at the moment, but I am holding fundraisers and SES Sessions all the way from India to help them out. SES is StudentsEmpoweringStudents where students from Africa interact with Students from all around the world using Skype, and they ask questions and learn about each other's culture. It is a brilliant awareness initiative. We also help teach English and Computer Applications to the students :)
I can assure you that this woman is nothing but pure of heart. No money is taken by her, all is given to the students. What she is doing is truly something inspirational.

-First of all, don't think of me as a selfish person just for choosing Elite and charity, cause I can't donate to charity besides the coin box on some restaurants, 1 I'm just a teen obviously without a job, + I have never seen any charity stuffs on my country, the only charity things I've seen is when people got affected by typhoons, I have never did much help in real life besides sitting in front of this computer and telling new players on SGMod servers the right or wrong thing to do. Long story short: I can't donate cause I'm a teen and there's not much charity business going on here and the only thing I do to help is by helping new players on SGMod.

If I win the Charity selection just randomly pick the choice what other players chose for

One of my best friends has Type 1 diabetes, and we hold a ton of fundraisers, gatherings and walks to help find a cure for the disease throughout the year. This is the type that is completely genetic and she struggles with the backlashes almost every day. She can be fine one day and completely sick the next. This year we have raised more than 1000$ in order to help find a cure. We donated all of the money we made to the JDRF, which is a research foundation for the disease. We are still going out and raising money for this cause to this day.
