adding vote kick to vip or vip+

I was playing on a server and a small group of people kept exploiting the map and getting out of it. we had no staff on but there was 3-6 VIP and I feel like it would be a good addition.

 

Personally, I'd like to -1 this. VIP's and up aren't really meant to have more of an advatange to regular players simply because the rank is just a donation. What you're implying from there is that VIP's and up should be given more trust than non-VIP's, but that is unfair. While it's not a "pay-to-win" thing, it would definitely be paying for power on the servers. It could be easily abused or used as harrasment if a player is being targeted.

 

Not being able to buy power is one thing I enjoy most about these servers. -1

Yep I'm gonna have to go with a -1 on this one. It's been seen before that there are definitely VIP's and VIP+'s that aren't exactly the definition of model citizens. Even ones that follow the rules, what is to stop them from kicking someone just because they think they're annoying? Or if they don't like their voice? There are too many possibilities to justify the inclusion of something that can be so easily abused.

 

Such a command is always abused in any game, and not every VIP or VIP+ is a trustworthy person. Besides, think of it like this. Let's say the majority of current VIP or VIP+ are excellent people. What if a troll were to get these ranks and abuse them? Not every single member on a server are proper players and would maybe help him. This is an option of power to control players, and such power should only be in the hands of those capable (the staff). If you believe you're capable, then you should try to become a staff member. If you DID try that and did not get a position, then there's a reason for it. What if you restrict that to former staff members? Well... they're former staff members for reasons whether it be their RL duties or lack of ability. Point of the argument: Power should be in the possession of those who are fully capable and not given to those who pay 20 bucks.

To add on about VIP and VIP+ not being trustworthy... I should know, because I'm sure half of my Wall of Shame (list of who I am following) are VIPs or higher.

Furthermore, that's paying for power instead of earning it through hard work, understanding, and dedication like those currently in staff.

Your always gonna have the one guy who gets pissed off and then decides to try and kick ppl.
Leave the rank as it is I dont come on to the server to get abused becuase another player doesnt like how a certain someone play

 

Maybe if they were forced to take a quiz about which situations deem worthy of a vote-kick, and which do not.

If there is no quiz or some sort of test implemented then no, paying 20 bucks doesn't make you trustworthy in my book.

The other day, 3 different people tried to /votekick me on the deathrun server. I don't wanna be kicked just for doing well =(

 

What makes this community stand out from the others is the fact that you have to earn your place to be able to use such commands. Abuse of power can run rampart on other servers because people can buy their way in. This is not only annoying but can ruin player experiences because no one likes someone who abuses their power just to make your stay absolutely terrible. Making this available to people who donate is absurd and will only cause more trouble. As mentioned above, just because you donate doesn't mean you can be trusted with these kinds of things. They may not know the rules or may just be trolls who want cool perks. It just wouldn't work.

Let's just take a moment to imagine a little scenario. Imagine if someone is being harassed for no reason other than they have a different sounding voice, or they may be younger, or they are a girl, or even someone who is new and made a small mistake. One player won't stop "talking shit" to the player and the likes. Soon enough "mob mentality" kicks in and now a group of people on the servers have decided to gang up on this player because they are all friends. A lot of them are VIP or of a higher rank and have this ability to vote kick. Because they have this power they all now gang up vote kick the single player from the server. That is not only going to ruin that poor players day and make them not want to return but it is now pushing things like harassment to the next level by people who would abuse the system. I mean this is just atrocious behaviour to begin with, but sadly it happens, especially when a server is staffless. So why add fuel to the flame?

We pride ourselves on being a fair community, a welcoming one and giving people powers simply because they donate is rather ridiculous.

This is not what our community is about.

Sure, let all the VIPs have power to kick anyone and EVERYONE on the server that THEY see fit. Wouldn't see any problems there like abuse of powers, people getting kicked for no real reason.

Hey hey hey! While I agree it's a bad idea, no need to be so rude to him about it! He just didn't think it through all the way. Maybe a new rank could be created, so people that are trusted but don't necessarily have the qualifications/desire to be a mod could have the option to votekick/votemute? Having VIP's be in charge is a bad idea, since it's so unregulated, but having a class of non-mods with this power is a pretty valid opinion in my books!

What defines trusted? I've been here longer than most, doesn't mean i can't abuse if I want.

You aren't "trusted" unless you are an admin.
Even mods are just cannon fodder and can be replaced.

 

The only people that should have a command to kick that don't particularly fall under the same requirements as most staff are Advisors.

Regulars and "trusted" members have no form of administration above them; giving them powers means they would need management. Adding more things to manage means using more time of the current staff. Even just the selection would take a lot of time. I'm not a fan of it, but to be more constructive, if it were a thing, Highwon and Leads should be the only people making the decisions.

I'm saying that people that the admins can vouch for, and they have to take a test or something. Regulars who are have been around quite a long time, and are known for following the rules. And I'm not saying we give them some great power. Isn't votekick something that requires the server's consent? We simply bestow that ability on people that everyone can be certain won't abuse it.

 

I could pass a test on this server and still abuse my powers.

We don't even need this on TTT, i have no idea why it's being discussed anyway.
Only place votekick was needed was DR, but the staff team expanded, thus it isn't needed anywhere.
