What is Ghosting

I was whispering to living players to KOS already confirmed dead traitors. to my knowledge because im not giving away who the traitor is(because they were already confirmed and killed) that isnt ghosting but i was banned for 28 days for ghosting. Can someone tell me how?

The player may not have known that the person who was dead was already dead. It seems like something stupid, but it is knowledge that they didn't have until you informed them, and you were dead, so it qualifies as ghosting.

Still considered ghosting if using some way to tell him besides the in game chat that everyone can see.

Any information that will/may change the outcome of the game that is given to a player that is alive is considered ghosting.

Example:
Player A is the Innocent.
Player B is in spectator/dead.
Player C is missing in action.

Player B PMs Player A "Player C is dead"
That is Ghosting.

Example:
Player A is the Innocent
Player B is the Traitor
Player C is in spec/dead

Player C PMs Player A "Player B is the traitor"
That is Ghosting.

Example:
Player A is the Innocent
Player B is the Traitor

Player B PMs Player A "I am the Traitor"
That is Ghosting.

 

So, just to clarify:

Example:
Player A is innocent. (alive)
Player B is Traitor. (alive)
Player C is innocent. (alive)

Player A PMs Player C that Player B is Traitor.

Yes if player C didn't know previously that player B is the traitor.
It's simply just giving someone information that they previously had not known about.

 

so if a detective got dna and know you a t. Can they work together? or it is a "Must" Kill Traitor once they are found by dna.

 

Giving any information to friends who are traitors while you are innocent is ghosting. If a friend tells you they are a traitor, that is ghosting. I think this answers the question you are asking.

 

This is considered ghosting because although they may be confirmed dead, the person who you are pming may not have realized that they had die. When you tell them to KOS that person, most people will more than likely press tab, and check to see if they are alive. This disrupts gameplay, because while that person is checking to see if the person you said to KOS is alive or dead they can be killed, or find out some information that they weren't aware of.

If you get the DNA off somebody, and you know for a fact that they are a T, working together with them would be considered metagaming. The goal of detectives is to kill all the traitors, and traitors goal is to kill all innos, so by working together you are defeating the purpose of the game. That's not to say that if I kill someone, and you get the DNA that you 100% have to kill, because I may have had a reason to kill that person, but if you know someone is a traitor, then working with them is considered metagaming.

 

I banned many people for this, friends who are detective and get DNA but decide not to kill them, or even innocents who see a person kill someone in front of them, tie a body up, etc, and do nothing about it. I wouldn't recommend
