  1. The Request:
I'm requesting the rules to be change so only when the Axe is active you can be killed for it (a T act) instead of it being a T act when it not active (all the time). The reason is because it play a sound when it active therefore the other players can tell if it dangerous or not (common sense).

    Reasons for change:
The Axe prop on Rooftop when held is a T act unless your a Detective. This is because it can become a weapon when it is brought to the machine on the breakable building similar method to how the Diamond Sword on MC works. However, unlike the Diamond Sword on MC for example, the Axe has sound for when it active.

Currently in progress in updating the list. However, feel free to look at the comments below. Some points were pointed out which weren't listed before.

  2. But why would you be holding the axe in the first place? This in my opinion is a pointless rule change because players shouldn't see the need to hold an axe.

  3. The players should have some freedom to play how they like, that what makes the server fun. Every player has a different playstyle & the rules should restrict that while keeping in line with the game type. The axe will not harm anyone until it is active which is why I'm for this change. It not like the diamond sword where you can't tell if it active or not (therefore this rule make sense) but with this prop you can.

  4. you can have fun without touching one prop on the whole map. like shit, if you only get fun out of holding a virtual axe then you need a new hobby

  5. That the player choice if they want to or not. I never had this issue until recently where people are getting killed when it not active which makes no sense. This rule change make more sense then the one in place.

  6. think what you wish, but it's also the player's choice to pick up the axe and get KOSed

  7. That the reaosn why I created this thread. Why is the player being KOS. The axe is only dangerous when it active but until then the player can use it as a prop. When it become active which is heard by the sound it produce then that when it is KOSable. The rule make no sense when there is a way for other players to tell unlike the diamond sword.

  8. Personally, I feel that this rule change would be unnecessary and cause more problems than not.
    • The ax serves no purpose other than to kill players. No objective, no reward, nothing.
    • It is difficult to tell whether or not the ax is charged or not, especially in a firefight or when multiple things are happening at once
    • I cant see any point of carrying the ax, as "freedom" doesn't make any sense in a game mode setting such as this. Implementing this rule would lead to players trolling and trying to get others slain by taunting and scaring them if they kill you for it unknowingly.
With that being said, unless @Darktooth has any objections, I will be denying this request for a rule change.

  9. It might not have a purpose but having a rule to kill if seen carrying it make the Axe overall useless unless your a detective. I understand about the trolling but overall it takes away from the gameplay.

Players have the freedom to play how they would like. The way they like to play, however, has to be within the rules that we've set out for them in our !motd.

  11. I agree, rules should be followed in order for this game type to be fun for everyone. I'm not sure if that sentence was clear to begin with. =/

Anyway, I'm not sure if the point getting across. Ain't it the players job to investigate & evaluate the scenes in TTT sort of like a Cops vs Robbers type thing. I can see why the rule in place in order to prevent trolling & griefers I believe based on what I heard. But there already a method to tell players if it on via the sound it makes so killing them before it active makes little sense other than to possible prevent those things but ain't there rules for them too? Plus any other player could just throw it off the edge & be done with it for that round. To me removing it from the gameplay which I had no issue with until recently makes little sense. I can understand the MC diamond sword but this seems like copy & paste.

However, if the rule was put in place because it doesn't come up in the damagelogs & make the mod work to find out who troll harder than by all means keep it in place.

I hope you understand my point & respect decisions made regardless. Only here to make the server & gameplay better.

I wasn't around when the ax rule was created, but that's one of the reasons of the diamond sword. It doesn't show up in dmg logs and making it a T-act discourages reckless actions which could cause unnecessary rdm that is hard to track. Your argument for freedom of play could be applied to most T-acts, especially map specific ones, but t-acts are important to define so that innos have a chance kill players who are taking actions which have no other usable purpose than to increase the chance of the traitors winning.

  13. Doesn't the axe also appear on other maps. This may lead newer players to be KOS for using it as a normal prop for example if they never played on rooftops. Similar to the Radio on 67th way or that christmas map. T-act for the axe can be define by the sound it makes when it active. This rule at the moment is similar to saying you can kill anyone holding a radio on those 2 maps. Changing it to you can only kill when it active would make more sense. Does anyone agree?

The ax rule is a map-specific rule in the extended rules, so only applies to maps that have it listed as a rule for that map. Also, can you kill someone with the radio? Or can it benifit the Ts in any way by changing its location? I do not understand how the map-specific map rule would apply to the radio props in other maps, but I feel as if I'm just missing your point, if you could explain further please

  15. As far as I know you can get killed for holding the radio (correct me if im wrong) unless on those maps unless the player know all has been destroyed or if it makes a sound. But I was saying it as like a what if moment since the radio is also a T weapon. It something some players would pick up & usually has music suggesting it not the real thing which is for that reason that leads on to the point with the axe. Not sure if that make any sense to you so let me know.

Ah! Yes, that is an excellent point. I honestly have no idea if you can or cannot kill for the radio in those maps, as I've never encountered that problem. But I would argue that the radio prop noise is very loud, constant and easy to identify as the source of the music, and when destroyed it breaks differently from a T radio. While the ax is armed it makes a very low buzzing sound that cannot be heard if I was say watching someone from a distance carry it around. By the time I get close enough to hear and identify the noise, it may be too late to keep from bring killed by it.

I would also point out that if someone is reported, there's no way for the mod to see in the logs when or if the ax was charged, so the mod would have to be direct witness of the situation.

  17. I think that really the 2 reasons which could have lead to this rule. The damagelog problem & the sounds might be too low to be heard in time.

Well thanks to those who commmented so far. I will at some point clean up the question to reflect the pro & cons about this rule change.

Also, I'm pretty sure you cannot pick up a traitor radio. It has to be placed on a surface.

Might be wrong. I barely use it.
