The Diamond Sword. Rule change regarding loop holing.

Discussion in 'Rules and Protocol' started by Peter Parker, Jul 31, 2015.

  1. Even after witnessing the diamond sword being enchanted should give you the right to kill anyone who holds it. This is because a traitor can easily carry the diamond sword to the enchantment room without being shot and tap the sword on the anvil and quickly and swing the sword around killing anyone who tries to kill the traitor.

I usually kill anyone who picks up the sword even though I know it's not enchanted. This is because I don't know their intentions and I really don't want to find out.

I don't understand your question, you know picking up the sword is a traitorous act whether it's enchanted or not?

It states in the rules picking up the sword is kosable. Just like the Axe is on rooftops

The reason carrying the sword is kosable is due to the fact that you can't tell if it's enchanted or not. However if you see someone craft the sword and then immediately shoot them for it, it can be considered loopholing as you are aware the sword cannot harm anyone at that time.

I think he is suggesting that even if you have just seen the sword crafted, it should be kosable to carry it without it being considered loop-holeing because even if you claim to be throwing it away, it's easy to slip into the enchanting room and arm it on the way past.

  6. Think about it. There's only one exit from the crafting table: a narrow hallway that could lead to stairs or the enchanting room. I think it's reasonable to kill someone who's carrying an unenchanted sword down that narrow hallway because we don't know the intentions of that player.

Yea, that's in the rules. Whether the sword is enchanted or not, if it's being held by a magento stick then you can kill the person who is holding it because it's traitorous.

I'm as confused as everyone else unless you're referring to the straight up act of crafting the sword.

What I said was more of them shooting someone as they pick it up when they see it get crafted. As it can't harm anyone at that time and they know it can't because they saw it get crafted, if they kill the player for "carrying" it, it can be treated as loopholing. However once they leave that area carrying it they are still committing a traitorous act and you can kill them for it. Once they are carrying the sword it is kosable.

  11. So it's only kosable once they leave the crafting room? Where's that on the rules....

It's traitorous to carry the sword. It's that simple.

Basically what we are saying is that if say someone crafts it or sees it crafted and knows it's not harmful and they still kill people that carry it, it can be considered loopholing.

You should just said so. We've been fumbling over the same idea for the past few hours.

I mean, if people aren't idiots they won't kill you for throwing away the sword. I'd think anyone who is killing you for trying to clearly do that is toxic, but is not necessarily loop-holing I believe because it is currently a rule that just holding the sword is kosable. *Someone check me on that*

I mean, nobody has ever been banned for it for loopholling.
Also, it is impossible to "accidentally arm it on the way out". You have to intentionally walk into the room, you can't do it from the hallway.

Tl;dr If you've been warned personally for it, talk to that moderator's admin, however it is simply just kosable to pick up the sword, just keep following that rule.

No the thing is the sword is too dangerous even if we know it is not enchanted. The move of going into the room enchanting it and then prop slinging it to people up the stairs and around the hallway. They also then can hide around the corner impervious to many gunshots to them.

    forgetting about me bb?

but yeah sword is naughty i just dont touch it anymore, unless its preround of the 1st round that is, then i get rid of it 5 seconds before the round starts.

Solid clarification of this rule would be great though.

    Carrying the sword is traitorous.

However, admin discretion will be sought if a player exploits this rule to kill multiple players with full knowledge of it not being charged.

That is the entire point being discussed here. What purpose does an innocent have crafting and carrying a tool that exists only to kill people? If I'm traitor and I say "Well I'm just going to go throw this away.." and then duck into the enchanting room on my way past I can easily throw it back into the hall and kill any witnesses and other players outside the library.
