Getting slain b/c of killing based on a KOS that was later called off

Discussion in 'TTT Discussion' started by [EGO] GH0ST_SE7EN, May 13, 2015.

  1. What's the deal with killing based on a KOS that was only later called off? I was slain by some new mods here (not gonna report them b/c they're new and I've been away for a few months) for it. From my past experiences on these servers, (1572 hrs) people were never slain for killing based on a KOS that was called off later on. It was the person that called the KOS who was slain for false KOSing and causing RDM.

If you try to call of a accidental KOS but people still kill the player, and claim they didn't see you remove the KOS, then you are at fault. This is because it was your KOS which got the player killed. If they however lie and know that the KOS has been called of and still kill anyways then they are the ones to be slain.

If a person did not hear your KOS being called off, then you're still held responsible for the KOS. If the killer acknowledged the KOS being called off and still take action, then they are held responsible. The people who are held responsible will result in a slay. That's how it's always been in all my time I've been in this community.

EDIT: @Steven | SP beat me to it that jerk.

As you intended to take the discussion here after @Vorlass and I both explained; You cannot KoS someone when it is called off and you ACKNOWLEDGED it was called off and stated openly in chat and mic, 'I can still kill him anyway.'

Vorlass pointed out it was an accident, you acknowledged it was an accident but intended to shoot and kill the player anyway.

The fact you acknowledged with Vorlass that you knew his KoS was an accident, but choose to STILL shoot the player anyway was what was taken into consideration, and thus slain for.

You also asked for the admin to check on it. Which I did ask @TheCoCoFTW and the slay was justified.

  5. So you're telling me as long as I don't acknowledge that the KOS was called off next time before I kill based off it, I'm okay? Cool.

It's really dumb to make a slay/not slay decision based on whether someone acknowledged the KOS was called off. This basically encourages people to never acknowledge that a KOS was called off.

Better than the alternative where even if you acknowledge the call-off it's still their fault. At least this way we can have some accountability if someone tries to troll and kill the KOS'ed person just to have the KOS-er slain.

I'm sure staff will take note of this response. If you're caught intentionally loopholing, you could earn yourself a pretty extensive ban.
