This map is just plain bad. the stairs act like ladders and it needs optimizations as the fps fluctuates a lot. It's just a waste of a map slot currently.
Lags a lot, the ice is slippery. But what is there to replace it with? Just don't vote for it or go on one of the other servers. There are other mods that can take over Neutral
My issues: Lack of Ammo and Guns: Though this isn't really that bad (As evidenced by the creativity of Haven) it makes it worse dealing with the following bullshit below. Ice Physics: It's a travesty to mankind in this map. It is not "slippery" but makes you stagger (lag) evidenced when you jump and I think actually just by walking you can tell the difference. You basically stop instead of a nice smooth slide like ice should be. Stairs: They're ladders. People everywhere in Gmod hate bullshit ladders... and for the most part this map does the ladders well in the sense that you don't stumble on them and get dmg'd. However, this slows down the speed of which you can travel from terror. Compare you going up these stair ladders to an equivalent staircase like Jondome where you without issue go up the staircases with complete ease. Large map: There's little to do and a lot of camping ensues. You have nearly 1/3rd of the map taken up by a deadly ice water pool and then 1/3rd for a forest, 2 1 room huts, and a few igloos. The last 1/3rd goes to the ice and the area surrounding this seemingly massive ship, but it's very very small if you look at it. There's only 2 floors, and about 4-5 total different rooms in general. Remember ladders? People constantly have issues getting down these and fall down them trying to get off the massive ship. Also, what about a C4? Place it in the right spot and literally everyone can die. I know that's its purpose... but to kill an entire ship of such "size" from a C4 is pretty silly. As for camping, here's an instance: Sure we've all seen idiots fumble about trying to kill people from long range... however when you have let's say the last 3 traitors with limited ammo on a ship that will kill you from mere fall dmg due to how shitty it is to get off against a detective and innocent camping in the woods behind trees with trunks that are body sized with an HP station. It's literally 5+ minutes of a potato aim display until a T get ballsy enough to run around them and most likely dies due to the lack of cover. It's basically WWI because of the ice water (No man's land, no sane human would dare cross it) dividing the two sides and in the end no progress is made until some people get ballsy and just kill themselves, like WWI. Furthermore, I agree the fps of this map is actually really damn awful now that I think about it. I was too bothered by everything else, but my god it is atrocious. Every time I've been on Vanilla I've been lucky enough to deter people from picking frozen, but oh my heart sinks when I see it picked. There are bad maps, but I say most of them can be tolerated. This is a case where I say it cannot be tolerated. -1
