So I don't know if many of have noticed, but I think we need a map fix to Hairyhouse. If you look at my screens, it shows a spot where you can get to but cant really get out. If you jump off the side you'll die and if you call a staff after you get there, its considered not stuck because you got there yourself.... I think we just need a door that actually opens up to the dance floor, or a ladder back up the roof. Spoiler: Screens ..... the poor dead guy is @XeroAssassin
I'm going to agree with this. The door is already there on both sides, it really should hurt anything if we make the door real. I don't see a downside to this, and there is obviously a benefit. +1 Edit: While it's still possible to not take damage by scaling the wall down (I said so in the screenshots too), not everyone would know that, and it still wouldn't hurt to make it versatile (as Mango said).
If you jump and run against the rock wall, at the little outward piece, you won't take fall damage. It wouldn't hurt to add both a door and a ladder, making the area even more versatile.
Its pretty easy to slide down. Tbh this stuff happens on most maps. You can't just jump off the roof on assault and not die but we don't fix that? If a player choose to use that tactical spot they should run the risk of precision jumping down I also think you can make it down without dying.
I'm not sure what roof you're talking about on assault, but both you can get down from without dying. The biggest problem with this ledge is that it's decieving in the fact that there's a fake door there, and a lot of players wouldn't understand that they can use the wall to safely escape death. As far as not fixing things, why wouldn't we? If we can improve the experience on our servers without any downsides, why not? I understand it creates work for someone, but laziness shouldn't be a barrier.
Everyone knows that door is a texture and on every map they cannot be opened. Yeah you missed the point you can get down from both without dying but you can also die from the more obvious way down, we dont give a ladder there. And this wont happen because nothing gets fixed... @Big Al and @Unknown Gamer have both fixed maps for us, do you see them on the server? No. Dont get your hopes up.
I get that you're a bit discouraged because not much seems to get fixed, but by simply deciding something is not worth looking into because it usually isn't is a bad idea in my opinion. If we want things fixed, should bring them up until they are. I get you think I shouldn't get my hopes up, and I agree, it'd be silly to be positive that a fix will be put into place, but if we didn't mention it and lay down an argument for it's merit, there'd be absolutely no chance of it being done, but again, simply disagreeing because it usually doesn't happen seems wrong to me.
I can make a hotfix for this in about a day, but unless I get a green light from @Highwon, @Slicck or @Darktooth I won't put in the time/effort.
As many have said, it is terribly easy to scale down the wall. If you don't know how, you could practically YOLO it and make it.
Most people can figure out how to lower the wall or add a ladder, it's decompiling the map, fixing the ladders and unpacking/repacking all of the map resources that takes time.
I meant slide/surf down the wall/cliff, not open it up in hammer and "scale down the wall" XD. I wasn't talking about editing it at all, sorry if my original comment sounded disrespectful, I should have said "cliff" or something.
Well, I'm not a mapper so I wasn't even thinking of it from that perspective - but upon reading your reply I reread it from the perspective your post read as and saw my error. It was a no-fault error xD.
