So one thing I've noticed a lot of people doing (including staff members) is to find people in compromising positions such as in a T tester, in a group, or alone, and they will walk up to the player and drop a grenade at their feet and then run away. To most all people that had the grenade dropped in front of them and all people nearby watching, some traitor (a bad one for being so blatant) just totally showed he was a traitor, and will then be killed, but then that person can report anyone that killed him, even a detective, and that person will be slain next round. I've recorded a video as an example of this. I've been told by staff that if you only drop a grenade once its alright, but if you do it several times its traitor baiting, how is everyone on the map supposed to know that a person already did it 1-infinity times and its no longer a first time, but a kos now.

Here is a video, and for recording this video I was banned, I spoke to coco and was unbanned since he understands that I was just trying to record a video to support my idea.

Here is the youtube video of a scenario where an innocent had his karma hit and would have been slain.

  2. We really do not need to amend t-baiting rules if this isn't one.

It doesn't matter how many times someone "drops" a grenade, this is not traitor baiting.

You do know it makes a sound when someone throws a grenade right?

    not with incendiaries.

And for everyone disagreeing, this makes it so that anyone can "troll" people as one said, and then the admins will slay, I had someone walk up to a traitor tester I was locked in, drop an incin at my feet, then a player who wasn't in the traitor tester started shooting because it looks like I was basically just given a death wish since I would be burned alive before the traitor tester door opens, and then it happened to open so I killed the person, and was then killed by a detective, and then slain next round, that hurts my gameplay, the detectives, the person who dropped the grenade, and the admins that have to deal with a report. There is no reason this should not be added to traitor baiting rules because it's already being abused and hurting gameplay.

It hurt your gameplay because you were trigger happy and assuming they actually threw the grenade, versus just dropping it. As always, we advise players to be 100% sure of what happened before acting on something rather than what may happen.

That's why you wait till the discombob or incendiary goes off first then you are allow to kill them.

But the same scenario can happen because someone was shooting at the wall or the ceiling, I would be "trigger happy" there and kill the person, but that person is in the wrong because they traitor baited, but when it comes to grenades, a very similar concept, and also something that could kill 5+ people with one throw vs someone being able to pick off maybe 3 with one spray (if they were true MLG L33T) you say the its different.

Lets emulate a very similar experience, I'm in the traitor tester locked in, someone walks up and shoots the glass, I think I'm under fire and attempt to get out of the tester, someone who was watching this go down starts to shoot the person, I get out of the tester, kill the person that shot me, and then the detective shoots me. Virtually the same exact scenario yet the person that shot is in the wrong and would be dead and could not file a report.

Yet the scenario like I said was someone throwing an incin while I was trapped in the traitor tester, meaning by waiting I would have been dead. Consider if someone was shooting NEAR me (which is traitor baiting according to all staff and rules) I could WAIT to see if they shoot me, thats what you are saying, just let anyone shoot near you and only fire back if they hit you.

What I'm saying with my last two posts is that if dropping grenades isn't traitor baiting, then we should making shooting NEAR people not traitor baiting, because according to all the nay sayers, everyone should WAIT to be hit. So technically it should either be added to traitor baiting rules, or current traitor baiting rules should be removed. The middle ground makes no sense.

Shooting at a wall or ceiling is also not traitor baiting, of course, unless you were right next to this wall or ceiling.

It was implied that a person would have been near the wall. Read the rest of my quote.

I did, you talk about shooting at walls/ceilings in one paragraph, and in your last paragraph you talk about being in a traitor tester and someone shooting the glass.

Second paragraph was a scenario, that why I prefaced it with emulate.

You do realise that there's this thing called physics whithin Garry's Mod and it is very easy to tell the difference as to when someone drops a grenade and someone throws a grenade?
Maybe instead of complaining about how it's unfair, maybe you should try to actually learn to tell the difference. You'll become a better player by doing so.

If it bounces, doesn't leave a little thud and poof of dust as it hits the floor, then there's the difference. Paying attention to the little things helps a lot.

Yea because every player on the server is so MLG elite to notice those things. Therefore fuck their gameplay

What if a player just bought a different grenade from the pointshop and it made him drop a grenade by accident?
I don't need to write a response to this one because Rice explains it perfectly.
    And
Any casual TTT player can realize thrown grenades react differently when they hit the ground then dropped grenades.
