Invalid Report against Polt Alskar

Reason For Report:

I am unsure whether to report the player or the admin but the event that I am reporting is that during that round, the player "i slay poon" shot me with a sniper rifle while on a ladder, so i preceded to shoot him , believing he was a traitor, and the player "Sicarius" proceed to shoot and kill me. I then explained the event in the report box and the trial mod Polt Alskar chose to investigate my report. The trial mod decided not to slay Sicarius, because I "shot an innocent", although i slay poon had shot me first, so I had the right to shot and kill him for that. But Sicarius received no consequences. But should I be reporting Sicarius?​

Shooting at players is a traitorous act/ killing an innocent is a traitorous act, both of these acts may get you killed, regardless of your reasons behind those actions.
@Polt<3 will explain the situation in more detail however.

 

The issue here that you're presenting is that you still shot another towards another player. As shown below from an excerpt of the MOTD, shooting towards players is still a traitorous act.


It doesn't matter who shot first. If someone sees you shooting towards a player and the shooter isn't a detective, you can be killed for it. Granted, this isn't the best play style I would recommend, you were still in full liability to be killed.

 

In the damage logs, Da_Russian had actually shot first. Sicarius then killed him for shooting another player with no reason. I consult a mod or whoever I am training with on ones that I am unsure about. In this case @Event Horizon was the one training me. He said that my ruling was correct.

 

Correct. I remember you shooting first so he was not slain. I do not remember what happened to i slay poon, though.

So in these logs it is obvious that you shot first, unfortunately leading to your death. Also unfortunately we have no information on why i slay poon started shooting you.
