I've been thinking lately. I go to the forums every day by using the in-game browser so i can talk to people in the shoutbox. I think there should be a command like !forum or !forums that takes you to the forums using the in-game browser. Sweet, simple, and easy to use/make
When you type !motd in-game, contrary to popular belief it's not just a screenshot; it's the actual rules page linked in-game. You can browse the forums through there.
but the !motd doesnt work for some cuz i cannot login through it, but through the in-game browser i can
The one that is present during the loading screen will not be accessible; this is a screenshot. However, the one that can be accessed using the !motd command will pull up the forums and allow you to log in. This would be the same as having a command such as !forums.
what mango said is correct, that is why you see moderators and admins using !motd very frequently, i actually have "say_Team !motd" bound so i can access forums easily
Is it really that hard to AltTab or just type seriousttt.com in the Steam browser? Even if we didn't have !motd, I don't see a need for this type of command
Actually, the one on the joining page isn't a screenshot, use just can't use it. As a moderator, you have to use your forum credentials to access certain things, and when you do and the map changes it will say your name on the top left corner of the joining screen, and I think also on the !motd. Just thought I'd throw that little tid-bit in there.
The steam overlay is slow and prone to minimizing anyways, alt tab is so much more useful, especially if you play in windowed or borderless windowed.
Woulnd't binding it with ulx motd be even easier? (Example bind "p" "ulx motd" ) This way you have no chatspam for it, works for the menu too.
