Spoiler: Where the Trap Should be Placed Now, a lot of people play Dolls and the only trap people are able to use on the map is the fan on the desk, which everyone can use. In the vents a fan propels you up to the top floor. What if we could add a traitor trap that would stop the fan for a certain amount of time and players who are on it when they stop will drop to their deaths? (~20-25 seconds?) PROS: Allows for traitors to kill players attempting to follow them up the vents. Prevents chasing entirely for an ample amount of time in order to allow for regrouping/strategy. Gives traitors new ways to use the map to their advantage rather than a very unnecessary desk fan that would probably never kill anyone anyways. This is probably one of the most played maps and adding this trap would bring a higher morale to lovers of this map. Perfect for sniping on the vents without having to use credits for tripwire mines that could never work/never kill. Players who come to the fan after it has been shut off are cornered, thus allowing for traitors to kill the trapped innocent. CONS: Could be a new place for camping. (This is only for about 20-25 seconds AND you can come from the front of the map as well to flank the known traitors. You can accidentally kill your traitor buddies. (This can be prevented by warning your teammates over voice chat/text chat.)
I believe you would need a map-maker to implement these things and code it And if you have to use a map-maker, chances are you're going to have to pay for that service I also don't really see the need for any T traps on the map, or where they would be placed
Voted maybe because Dolls is already a big map where traitors can snipe without being seen, kill innocents in the closet and etc. I'm pretty sure the map is already easy enough for traitors without the need to add another trap. On the other side, the idea is not bad and I wouldn't mind playing with it if it gets implanted.
This is a great idea but I don't know if it is possible to edit a map like that but if it is sweet! 1+
-1 People fall off ladders plenty of times, and the traitors have a great sniping advantage. I don't think this map needs to be more favorable to traitors than it already is.
I like it, it's unique. I don't think I've seen any other server containing this addition of Dolls. +1
I mean...that is their own fault for falling off, and traitors can fall of the ladders as well if you are not smart about it. And there are no "traitor only" sniping advantages. You can go to the same places traitors can. Not an advantage.
True, but from my personal experience I've seen more innocents fall off of ladders than traitors. As far as sniping goes, the traitors get the added element of surprise as they make the first shot, and I've seen Innos getting sniped run and scatter in confusion rather than stand and pinpoint the sniper.
Well traitors NEED the element of surprise. The point of sniping is to be long distance and WANT everyone to scatter rather than pinpoint the sniper. And people fall off of ladders. So what?
SO for a map to have a design where it's easy to get sniped on and where plenty of people fall to their deaths from poorly designed ladders is T-sided enough. The wide open space and ladders help Traitors enough. We don't need a trap for traitors. Period.
Probably because 70% of the players are innocents and only the remaining 30% are Detectives and Traitors. That's why you see more innos dying, lol.
+1 Too dull and boring and this will bring live to us all. @BuilderGaming since you are coder, what's your input. My imaginative about the T trap would be turn off the vent fan so everyone who is using it might die from fall damage.
I hate Dolls, so I'll +1 this AND suggest that they add a traitor trap that instantly kills everyone on the map and auto-RTVs to the next map.
It's still a -1 from me. I don't see a reason for this to be used honestly. The map is large to the chances two people will be in that vent, one being a T and another an inno, is pretty minimal. I also see Ts win all the time. Like I said in my original post, you'd have to get a map-maker to edit this map and implement the T trap. Also, chances are there will be more than one T-trap since just one would seem out of place. Also, map-makers usually aren't cheap, unless someone here has editing abilities to the map and can implement the T trap. P.S. If you're going to give a +1, please explain why. I don't know if that's a common thing around here, but it makes sense
