Biweekly Weapon Update!

Biweekly updated weapon list consisting of 1 new random weapon every 2 weeks.

• The random weapon would be available for 2 weeks and switched out for another brand new weapon at the end of its cycle.
• Polls can be used to give the community a choice on which weapon they would like added come the following weapon update.

 

SO MANY +1's, aslong as we start with M9K weapons because there are so many great guns in that pack that we dont use.

Yes, the M9K weapon pack makes me drool just thinking about all the awesome guns there, and it was also my main inspiration for the idea so we could try out some of the exciting guns available to us.

 

I'd also like to see some of the lesser guns phased out, guns that are barely used.

This would bring more varitity to the game and keep it if the majority likes it. But please dont vote the double barrel.....

Yeah, I'd say that's the biggest barrier standing in the way of having something like this implemented in the future. If we could have another community member step up to the plate and do the work of making the weapon compatible for proper implementation into the servers then it wouldn't be an added strain on Highwon's workload. Either way, the benefits are great and attempting to update new weapons in a semi regular basis of 2 weeks would only help to further the servers popularity.

 

Yeah, I feel like it's like a really good concept but a pain in the ass to execute. Having to incorporate new weapons every 2 weeks sounds like trying to paint an entire house a new color every month.

tbh a pretty bad part of it is that you have to download every single weapon and after some time, you have a shitload of weapon files that don't get used

A single weapon file is often no larger than 2 MB's. In 1 year you'd only be downloading an extra ~50 MB's, which is comparable to a single map file. I'd say the extra bit of download is worth it considering you'd be spending maybe 10 seconds every 2 weeks downloading a new weapon file. There would be 24 extra files in your Gmod folder every year, but that's not a whole lot, and the benefits outweigh the small increase in files you're concerned about.

 

If it only required finding and making a short video show casing the guns for Highwon each 2 weeks i'd be happy to whip up a lot of them.

 

+1, I would love to see this added, it would add so much variety. A few questions though:

 

It's literally impossible to run out of weapons, like finishing through M9K alone would take about 6 months.
