GET MORE MODS.

You guys really need to start taking more reputable people to become moderators and fast. I dont know if you guys keep making people mods who are only as the same time as all of the other mods. but its starting to get stupid. Yes, i know you guys have a process of accepting people but you need to start making the process a little faster, because yes i know you guys are trying to keep a good rep with the right people you setup to be mod, but you are making the servers look worst by not having enough moderators on to fix the problem.

You obviously didn't fully read my post.
In my post I am saying more mods need to be put on in a faster way.
We don't have enough mods for all of the time of day.
No need to be a dick. But it needs to happen. the mods should be able to play the game too not just moderate it. jumping server to server to moderate.

 

My new method for selecting mods. Now entering alpha phase.

 

If we pick up moderators impulsively as you suggested, their quality drops since we won't be able to put much thought into them.

We'd rather wait patiently for one good moderator than pick up four bad ones.

 

Also the turnover rate is just something we have to deal with. Along with selection, there's the trial phase. Along with other personal factors, the server is usually people's last priority. Let's face it. If you're offered to study for school to make good grades and a paying job. Nobody is going to prefer mod over that. It should be a complement of what you do. Because you like to do it.

 

Quality>Quantity

 

I agree to a certain point @Kenny , but I'm not saying you should impulsively add new mods. Just the process on the chosen mods take forever or even when you put a application in.
And yeah I get that too @Taco_Rocket Idk, there's a lot of people who play on the servers at random times and if you took their little time to the community and looked into the random times they came on would make quiet the difference.
I would myself throw a application in myself but I work myself most of the time. I would be a mod for the random times i am on, because im not on all of the peak hours and I would help throughout the times mods are needed. But I know I wouldn't be considered for that fact.
I guess I'm just frustrated on how its all going.

 

And the only reason I'm bitching, is because I like this sever. Its the only TTT server I have played for 5 months, 4-5 months.
Most of the people here are pretty decent And i like the community, for the most part.

 

We are all frustrated. About a week and a half back we had close to all slots filled. Then school happened and now see where we are back at. Just hang tight report the bad players and before you know it, we will back to full capacity.

 

A lot of our staff are still within their first couple of weeks of school, and thus getting schedules and timings sorted out. Part of the lack of staff coverage will likely be solved as our school-going staff get settled in and can once again comfortably moderate the servers.

As for the entire day not being covered, there actually needs to be a fair amount of strong applicants for the less-staffed times in order for the administrators to pick them up. While I can no longer speak for the applications now, if it's anything like it was before, there's likely little to no "night" time applications, especially now that school's started for a lot of players who used to be able to cover later times during summer.

It's not as easy as you make it out to be.

 

We can't just pick up staff willy nilly. -_-. Put yourself in the position of the staff that look at the applications. If they pick a mod, it will have to be someone that stands out to a specific admin.

 

Find me good applicants.

My response to this would be; find us enough applicants to fill the spots and we will fill them. The truth is, is there isn't always enough candidates to have alot of mods. Nonetheless, we will figure it out. We always do.

 

I understand where you are coming from, Kyle. But a lot of people have outsides lives and are not going to spend all their time on Serious TTT servers. Now while we do have plenty of moderators and non-staff who report players on the forums, it sometimes is not enough during some times of the day such as the graveyard shift. During this shift only up to 8 moderators are on at a single time. And there will not always be enough mods. You need to understand that. Sorry it seems stupid, but heh, that's life. I have made plenty of those tedious forum reports that no one seems to want to do. But it needs to be done. Woops. :/
