    Your In Game Nickname:
    sephr
    Your Steam ID:
    STEAM_0:0:20537521
    Which Server:
    East2
    Why you should be unbanned:
    I didn't ghost
    Evidence of Innocence:
I pmed in response to Suneel saying he wouldn't follow my kos (meaning he is already aware of the kos). I did not repeat who I kosed to Suneel, and immediately before those messages in chat there is "sephr: -Exiled- is a Traitor" x3 (also called out over voice), to give you context as to what it is I am talking about.

All I asked of Suneel is why he was intentionally ignoring to follow my KOS (which I made while alive) and he was talking over chat saying he didn't want to follow it, so I wanted to know why. These PMs are a response to Suneel's statement to me over voice that he would ignore my KOS since it's probably false. My PMs did not make him aware of an active KOS, as he already acknowledged the KOS to my by telling me he wouldn't follow it.

That is the entirety of my chat log. Context for the 3rd and 4th messages: Suneel accused me of ghosting after I said the first message, so I explained to him why it wasn't ghosting.

The MOTD defines ghosting as "Using third party chat to inform player of in-game events they are not yet aware of." so it looks like I would still be in the clear even if I did repeat who it was I kosed (which I didn't), as that was done while I was alive. I don't understand how this could be ghosting.

Edit: I should probably mention that I was a detective that round, which is the whole reason I wanted to know why he would intentionally ignore my KOS, and pmed him in response to his claim that he would not kill exiled (that he said over voice first before I pmed him anything).

You were banned by @Lightning for Ghosting First Offense, he will respond at his earliest convenience.

Feel free to play on our other servers while you await his response.

Sorry, I don't have a screenshot of that anymore. I already explained that I didn't pm Suneel who I kosed, so it's not like that aspect is important. The pms do not say who I kosed.

Those 4 pms were the entirety of my conversation with Suneel. Does Serious TTT keep chat logs or anything like that? I don't know how else I can prove it. All I can provide is in-game screenshots.

This would not be easy to photoshop since there is gameplay behind the translucent text box.

I did have a screenshot of me saying the KOS multiple times that I sent to @Lightning when he asked me for a screenshot, but I deleted it three rounds later since I thought that the report was resolved. I didn't realize that he ban me much later, so I hope he remembers looking at the screenshot that showed even more of the chat log above, to further corroborate my story.

Sephr, as stated in the !motd, Ghosting is defined as:

By private messaging this player to look in chat or be more aware of KOSes called, you are informing him of a possible KOS he might have not seen/heard. As a result, you caused an alteration in gameplay, basically killing a player from the dead. This is what the rule is specifically trying to prevent. I recommend completely avoiding any communication with living players to not run into situations like these. However, my moderator Lightning will respond to this appeal with a verdict.

I said that he already acknowledged my KOS, as he was already talking to me about ignoring my KOS, so that means he is fully aware of the KOS already. This would mean that I probably did not cause an alteration in gameplay. In the end, he never actually did follow my KOS anyways, so nobody was harmed by my response to him telling me he wouldn't follow my KOS.

In the screenshot you provide yourself, you private message Suneel saying:
Everything in this quote shows evident signs of ghosting, Suneel, the player you private messaged, continues to claim that you were ghosting. You were using a form of commutation other than public, team and spectator chat to inform a player about a KOS. There is no evidence proving he acknowledged this KOS, as a result we cannot assume he was aware of this KOS. You could have avoided this completely by following the !motd, it specifically says "Using public chat, team chat and spectator chat will ensure you aren't ghosting. Any other forms of communication could result in inadvertently ghosting and we will enforce it.". If you were aware of the rule itself, you should have also been aware of the line below that.

@Lightning saw the other screenshot (which I explained is now deleted) that had the chat scrolled up higher, so at least he knows that I'm not lying about my claim that Suneel wasn't using text chat. Other than that, I have no recorded evidence of the voice chat, sorry. All I have is evidence that he didn't use text chat, since I only took screenshots. I guess I should have been frapsing the round :(

Even if he was aware of said KOS you were persuading Suneel to follow it. There was absolutely no reason for you to private message him concerning the event. If he does not want to follow your KOS he does not need to. Persuasion is another way of altering gameplay, the player you persuade might second guess his judgement and do something he would not have if he was never messaged. As I said earlier and as said in the !motd, using public chat, team chat and spectator chat will ensure you aren't ghosting. Any other forms of communication could result in inadvertently ghosting and we will enforce it.

    Hello sephr.
I didn't want to ban you for Ghosting but me and my admin @Sinz agreed that is was in fact ghosting. Saying something along the lines of "Can you not read KOSes" may have the person scroll up in chat to see the KOS, thus seeing information that he did not know about which is in fact ghosting. Persuading somebody to follow a KOS is considered ghosting as well since the player may have thought it was a misclick/false KOS. You telling him to follow it is almost telling him he is a traitor and you should kill him. However since you didn't try to ghost I will unban you, but the ban will NOT be voided. So if you are caught ghosting again, it will be you 2nd offfence which you will be banned for 8 weeks global. My advise to you is to not talk to living players if you are dead. This way you can't accidentally tell players game breaking knowledge.
    Ban appeal Approved
