It makes me really sad that I spent all day playing to get money for my lottery tickets. I got to spot number 3 on the leaderboards for ticket amount at 26 tickets I believe. I check back like 30 minutes later and somebody has purchased 560 tickets out of 1200 total tickets. Clearly they have just under a 50 percent chance. The lotto was then won by them for a second time. I feel like the lotto isn't really helpful to alot of people when others can pretty much just buy it out. I know its a 50 percent chance, they can still lose. But those odds only get better every time they win which gives them more money to invest. There is never going to be an amount of people on the server that gives that person with a 50 percent chance stiff competition unless we had several BIG buyers. Even if somebody spent a million dollars in real life on a lotto, that isn't giving them THAT much better chances. Right now the lotto feels like it can be gamed by the winners. I just don't think it's fair if we see the same person win two nights in a row. That is kind of just BS... It's "fair" yeah, they spent their money... but I'd like to see something put in place. My suggestion is we set a ticket cap to 100 Tickets per lotto. That way, the max is somewhat attainable for people who don't have a lot of money... That would be nice! I felt fine with my 4000 gold, but now I just feel gamed by people who are holding onto 100k+ I literally didn't think that was possible. Maybe things will be better once we see more ways to earn points implemented, like that suggestion thread that you liked Highwon! EDIT: I'm thinking that maybe if you set the ticket cap to even 20 or 30 tickets, something that isn't TOO high. More people would be inclined to buy in as they would feel their chances are greater and the investment isn't too large, and the pot might also get pretty big since we'd have 20 from many people!
I agree with this in that those who got a head start on having a lot of points are in good position. like I started out with 25k (that I had saved up of course) and it would be more like a lottery if I couldn't rig it every day (and at this point I pretty much can lol)
100 ticket cap is reasonable, limiting it down to 10 is not. At least if it's at 100 then the big players with lots of money like 'DeathShot' can still have fun investing heavily. People need something to do with their money, and if you play on the server for most of the day you can make a lot more than what 10 tickets is worth. We should be rewarding people for spending more time on the server, which is why I think a ticket cap at 100 is reasonable.
The Law, Deathshot has so much money because he won the first lottery and then was able to buyout the second lottery. We do reward players for playing on the server. If you play a lot doesn't mean you should be able to have your money double by buying out the lottery. Making the lottery ticket cap less and for maybe even more money would be a way better system. Do you know how much money it costs to buy ALL of the upgrades? Around 400k. People are going to have to play ALOT to get that. The current system is broken and a 100 ticket cap still seems broken. Do YOU have 10,000 points to drop on a 100 tickets at all times?
Well it might be a good strategy to save up your money over multiple days and buy those 100 tickets. That would give players more options regarding the ticket system. I personally don't think buying 100 tickets out of aprox. 1000 (1 in 10 chance) is going to result in a broken lottery system that we've seen in the past winnings; It would be a marked improvement.
The lotto isn't really broken. The odds of death shot winning every day will keep on going down the longer he keeps putting all of his tokens into the pot. As soon as he loses, this problem will go away.
I agree with this suggestion 100%. What I saw with DeathShot winning the lottery twice in a row was ridiculous. And that's only because he spent most of the money he won from the last one, on tickets for this one. Its not very fair. I understand that them buying so much tickets does make the lottery winnings greater and all, but it doesn't give others fair chances. Setting a maximum amount of tickets one person is able to buy could make things a bit more fair.
If I limit the tickets per player, the jackpot will be significantly lower. The only reason the jackpot was at ~160k last night was because ~86k points were from Deathshot. He had roughly 55% chance of winning. But like DieKasta said, his chances of winning everytime he does this will be lower. There is nothing wrong with the system and I'm sure if someone who bought only 1 ticket won that ~160k pot, nobody would complain. I'm not going to add a limit for the time being as I believe the system is working fine. If this becomes an on-going issue then I'll look into adding a limit. Also do note that there is nothing requiring you to enter the lottery so there is no reason for you to be sad when you lose. You have to understand you're taking a great risk by entering. Your chances of winning are very low. And it's not worth it to spend ~86k points to get a 55% chance. He took a huge risk and it paid off but I bet he wont do it again.
nope! especially because ive either spent or given away most of my points so I only have 10k left BE HAPPY!!!
I say only 1 ticket per player. This way everyone has an equal chance of winning. Also, people like DeathShot won't be able to use all of their latest jackpot winnings on buying more tickets.
It would be fair for newer players and older players who spent all of their money on the crowbar upgrade
I think if you made a ticket limit but set the ticket price WAY higher then it would be awesome. What about 500 to 1000k per ticket? I would be into that.
Lets give the lottery system a chance before trying to change it up. Give it a week or two and then make a decision if anything needs changing.
Sounds like a plan! Obviously people are goin nuts when seeing Death win twice in a row, but I guess we can see how things turn out.
