+1 However it should be all players can only bet the same amount, otherwise i can see this being abused.
-1 i can see this being easily abused, people will only bet when they are 100% sure they will win and their points would just grow exponentially without anyone losing that many. i can see that causing the lotto to be less worth it, and people will be less likely to donate.
I don't see a situation where a player will sacrifice their traitor, detective or even innocent round for someone they most likely don't know. Would you? I wouldn't. I understand Not too sound rude but please do your research before seeming ignorant. This LUA code has a set timer to end 3 minutes in. (you can edit it to be sooner or later, this is just a default timer) Which will prevent players betting on a team at the last minute so they can win the bet. The winning betters get a PERCENTAGE. Which is usually 100 points. How can that measure up to 100,000 points? And how will this cause people to not donate?
I'm not really sure how I see betting work on TTT, but I think a betting system should start in fun rounds when there 5 or so people left alive. Just a little dialog box for the other spectators that have already died to bet on the remaining few.
90% of the community know eachother... if someone asked me to kill myself on my inno round cause they bet on T's, i'd do it, inno rounds mean nothing.
I'm always seeing new faces everyday via servers. A lot of players come and go, saying is an ignorant statement. And even if your point "I'll kill myself for a player to win a bet" still can be done even without this LUA code. Like a lot of players like to bet on which team will win. For example: Player A will bet 1000 points on the traitors and someone takes it via honor system. Player B (who's alive) receives a PM from Player A to kill himself to win a bet. Player B kills himself. Player A gets points. All this LUA code does is make a option for a player to bet on a team, no player will receive large sums unless they're the only one betting which I'll doubt will happen seeing how everyone is to an extent greedy. This LUA code will engage spec players and promote more excitement via spectator screen.
My reasoning behind this was because on another I was staff on server we implemented a betting system like this and it was incredibly easy to abuse it. Literally, people had insane am mounts of points.
Well we used to implement this on our last server and we never had any insane amount of points as a result of it; (besides the fact that we gave ourselves millions of points to fuck around with). We had a cap on the maximum amount you can bet and it worked pretty well. After about a month there still weren't any problems in the market, and that's without any lottery of sorts. Also, we didn't have any upgrades for tens of thousands of points and it still worked well.
I agree that this should be added... I have noticed that people don't stick to there word if they lose...
